Power Pack and Robin

It's only fitting that these kids cross paths with comicdom's first sidekick.  I'm still waiting to hear details on the planned Batman: The Brave and the Bold movie, and whether Dick  Grayson will plar a role, as Damian is the rumored Robin of that story.

Catwoman Vs. Mockingbird in: "Bobbi-Pinned!"

Aside from the natural cat/bird conflict, I think there would definitely be friction between these two.  as a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, Bobbi Morse knows how to work with others and abide by a set of mission parameters - quite a contrast from Selina Kyle, a solo act who has no problem breaking the rules.

These two first crossed paths in STF #3652...

Elongated Man and Stingray

I loved when some of my favorite C-list heroes got the spotlight, so a team up like this that featured two of them would have jumped right off of the racks for me.  Let's hear it for the unsung heroes of our youth!

Green Lantern & Green Arrow and The Inhumans

It was always fun to see street level hero Oliver Queen's take on the goings on when he would get into some type of cosmic adventure with Hal Jordan or the JLA. I think a tale like the one above would provide plenty of opportunities for him to make some interesting observations.

Nova and The Creeper

I recently saw a request to pair these two together due to them having similar last names.  The names are only phonetically the same, but I thought it would still be cool to see them in an adventure side by side. Add in one malicious mechanical menace and a story starts to form...

Mr. Terrific and Sherlock Holmes

Robert Downey Jr. is done with his time in the MCU, and I'm going to guess there won't be a sequel to Doctor Dolittle any time soon.  I'm hoping his freed up schedule gives him time to join Jude Law for a third outing as Sherlock Holmes.  I've read that there is some interest in making another film, but I haven't seen anything definite about it yet.  Hopefully, that will change soon - The success of the Knives Out movies show that audiences are still ready to embrace a well written mystery.

Robin and Nova

Nova is one of the Marvel characters that I was able to follow from his very first appearance, so I have been waiting for him to finally be added to the MCU.  Will Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 be the place where he is finally introduced?  I haven't heard anything about that, but there will be a space to be filled for cosmic action once that trilogy concludes.  Let's hope that Nova is part of the next generation of big screen cosmic heroes.

Nova first met Robin along with the rest of the New Teen Titans in STF 497...

Spider-Man Vs. The Joker in: "Who's Laughing Now?"

I thought that I would do a follow up to the first Spidey/Joker back in STF #3917.  I wondered there how The Joker would react to a hero that's even better at wisecracking than he is.  Well, maybe he would lean into it and try to make a protégé out of Peter... which leads us to this cover.

Batgirl and Doc Samson

Long time followers of this blog know that this confrontation has been brewing for a while now.  Commissioner Gordon was first summoned to Mongo by Flash in STF #2535, Barbara Gordon began searching for him in STF #3879, and finally tracked him down and went to collect him in STF #3535. It's good to see them back home safe and sound.

Blonde Phantom and Wildcat

I've already established that Tigra is Wildcat's niece on this blog, and I thought it might be nice to give the JSA's resident pugilist a sister as well.  I come from a big family - I have four brothers and two sisters, so stories about relationships between siblings have always appealed to me.

Wonder Girl and Marvel Boy

Once I started this cover, I began to wonder what took me so long. Not only do their names seem to go together, their costumes do as well - it seems like a natural combination.

I'm always happy to use artwork by Irv Novick, an underrated talent that illustrated many of my favorite Silver and Bronze age tales.  I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of original page by him several years ago, one with inks by Dick Giordano, the other by Murphy Anderson:

The Bondsmen in: "Operation: Doomfall!"

This cover marks the fifth appearance of The Bondsmen.  Their live action movie was featured in STF #3170, They found themselves in a beastly situation in STF #3050, They had to temporarily replace one of their own in STF #880 and were first introduced in STF #564...

It took a bit of cleaning up of Latveria before I could add in our heroes on this cover.  Here's a peek at the process:

The Silent Partners in: "Breaking the Silence!"

We've now seen The Darkhold on Wanda/Vision after a version of the book was used on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so it appears that Kevin Feige is ready to use concepts and characters from the Marvel TV shows.  That's good to hear, because I think the MCU will do a much better job of presenting heroes like Black Bolt and The Inhumans and villains like Absorbing Man and Graviton than we got in their first live action incarnations.

This is the fifth adventure of The Silent Partners - they last appeared battling Soundwave in STF #2810... the recruited Man-Thing in STF #2250, they were targeted in STF #1650, and made their debut in STF #764...

Dick Tracy and Wonder Woman

I was a little disappointed not to see any reference to Wonder Woman in the recent CW Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.  They managed to get all of the other major DC Icons in there one way or another.  There was even a Green Lantern reference on the last episode.  Lynda Carter has worked for the Arrowverse before, it's too bad she didn't get a cameo here.

The Silent Partners in: "Shouted Down by Soundwave!"

I was a little to old to get into Transformers toys when they hit the scene, but Soundwave looked like one of the cooler ones.  I like that he transformed from a cassette tape player that also worked in his robot form.  I can imagine that made for lots of fun by swapping the recordings out..

This is the fourth adventure of The Silent Partners - they last appeared recruiting Man-Thing in STF #2250, they were targeted in STF #1650, and made their debut in STF #764...

The Flash and Quicksilver in "World's Fastest Fakeout!"

Word is that a Flash movie is still in production with Ezra Miller still set to star.  I hope there are some major changes made to his costume and performance if that is the case.  While I have liked him on other roles, Miller's Flash was easily my least favorite part of the ill-fated Justice League movie.

These speedsters have crossed paths in the past:

Quicksilver needed The Reverse Flash's help in taking down a possessed Barry Allen in STF #727...  Flash and Quicksilver  fought each other along with the JLA and Marvel Universe in STF #1900... they battled over getting into the movies in STF #678... and they first met way back in STF #15...

Coming Tomorrow: STF #2700!

Sgt. Fury and Blackhawk

Blackhawk is another one of those DCEU projects that was announced, and seemingly forgotten.  None other than legendary director Stephen Spielberg was named as director, which got me very interested... and then nothing.  I haven't heard a peep about this movie since that initial announcement, I hope that it is still on.

Robin and Moon Knight

The agreement not to use any characters form the Netflix shows in the MCU for a couple of years takes a lot of Marvel's street level characters off the table for now.  Moon Knight never made it to Netflix, despite some discussions, so he is fair game however.  Besides, I'm betting Marvel would love to outdo Batman with their own eccentric tortured billionaire that spends his nights as a costumed vigilante.  Let's hope they bring him to the big screen at some point.

Moon Knight first met Robin (along with Batgirl) in STF #1432...

The Silent Partners in: "Monster in the Mix!"

I thought it was time to increase the ranks of the stealthiest team in the STF Universe - and without much discussion, Man-Thing has joined in! I mentioned in the comments to their last appearance that they would be adding a member next time out - did any of you guess correctly?

This is the third adventure of The Silent Partners - they last appeared in STF #1650, and made their debut in STF #764...

Robin and The Beast

I have to admit, when I was a kid it took me a while to realize that the blue hairy guy in The Avengers was the same character as the guy with big hands and feet in The X-Men.  At. that point, I just read comics at random, whatever my older brothers left lying around, with little sense of continuity.  Eventually I stumbled onto an issue of Amazing Adventures and it started to become clear to me.  The fact that Hank McCoy went through this incredible transformation just made me like him all the more.
