Dick Tracy Vs. The Sinister Six

As cool as Dick Tracy's rogues gallery was, most of his villains did not live past their first adventure with the classic cop hero.  It's only natural that he would need to seek out new challenges once he worked through his personal roster of adversaries.  But how would he fare against the enhanced abilities of a half-dozen of Spider-Man's biggest foes?

Batgirl & Robin Vs. The Sinister Six

With Kraven about to make his cinematic debut, we will finally have seen live action versions of all of the Sinister Six.  Spider-Man: No Way Home came kind of close, but it's too bad we never got a proper Spidey Vs. The Sinister Six Movie.

Dick Grayson will face off against a slightly different Six lineup once he transitions into Nightwing, as seen in STF #3738...

The Sinister Six Vs. Nightwing

There was talk of a Nightwing movie in the works for a while, but I don't know if that project is alive anymore.  Perhaps if Batgirl is a hit with audiences, Warner Bros will take another look at the property.  Will there be a mention of Dick Grayson in that movie?  With Michael Keaton's Batman due to show up there, we might get a clue as to what the boy wonder's cinematic future holds.

Doctor Octopus Vs. The Penguin

When I first heard that there would be a series on HBO Max spinning out of The Batman and featuring Colin Farrel's Penguin, I kind of scratched my head.  The Penguin didn't seem like a character that warranted his own show and didn't we just already watch the villain's rise to power in Gotham?  Then I saw the movie, and was really taken by his performance.  I wanted more, and this series will certainly provide that - now I can't wait for it to come out.

Man-Bat Joins The Sinister Six

Spider-Man: No Way Home kind of gave us a Sinister Six story but not really.  I guess if you count the mid-credit scene there were six Spidey villains in the mix - or if you count J. Jonah Jameson as a villain.  Still, hopefully one day down the line we'll see a true sinister six adventure on the big screen.

I was happy to use a Don Newton image of Man-Bat here.  I was lucky enough to pick up an original  Don Newton page many years back:

Superman Vs. The Masters of Evil

With Thunderbolt Ross rumored to be making an appearance in the upcoming Black Widow movie, there has been speculation that Red Hulk may be introduced, perhaps joining forces with The Taskmaster.  Could this be the beginning of a Masters of Evil-type team?  Maybe even leading to a Dark Avengers or Thunderbolts story line?  It's all conjecture at this point, but I'd love to see that direction taken.

Spider-Man and The Creeper In: "Something Sinister This Way Creeps!"

Well, It looks like Spider-Man will be staying in the MCU a little while longer, for one more solo movie and an appearance in another Marvel event film.  This is very good news, as they will now be able to provide a resolution to the cliffhanger we were left with at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Most are assuming another Avengers film for his other appearance, but I am hoping to see him with The Fantastic Four.  I always liked his friendship with The Human Torch in the comics, and it would be great to see that played out on the big screen.

This is the third meeting between Spidey and The Creeper on this blog.  They last met in STF #306  and before that, they were the very first team-up when I switched over to Super-Team Family way back in STF #1...

Superman Vs. Doctor Octopus

Henry Cavill has been hinting lately that he is once again bulking up for the role of Superman.  This is Good news because I do like his portrayal, despite the poor scripts he has had to work with thus far.  The question is where he will return - in a sequel of his own or perhaps a cameo in Shazam! or another DC movie?  Hopefully there will be some sort of announcement at the upcoming Comicon that will shed more light on DC's plans for the Man of Steel.

Batman and The Sinister Six

It will be interesting to see a new take on the Spider-Man film franchise, but part of me was hoping that the new films would continue in the previous movie's continuity.  That way we could have Spider-Man 4 with Kraven hunting the Lizard and Spidey in the middle, then a Spider-Man 5 with Mysterio and/or Electro as the villains... all setting the stage for Spider-Man: Sinister Six!, where the foes from each movie unite to finally try an take the web-slinger down for good.  It would be a crowded film but so cool to see one of my favorite Annuals come to life.  Ah well, perhaps it is never meant to be, but we still have the comics and the animated adaptations of the Sercret Six to enjoy.
