Freedom Fighters and Agents of Atlas

Between the Golden Age and Modern Ages of heroes, these were two teams that held down the fort. I have enjoyed both their original appearances as well as the modern revivals of both of these groups.  I'd love to see a story set in the 50's or 60's or even the present day that includes them both.

The Falcon and Doll Man

I got a kick out of The Flacon naming his little drone "Redwing" in Captain America: Civil War, but I have to admit I was hoping they would find a way to present the real deal.  Sam Wilson flying into action with an actual falcon at his side was always a cool visual in the comics and it would have been fun to see it in live action.  Besides, I like superheroes with animal sidekicks.

Ant-Man and Doll Man in: "A Tiny Little Trance!"

One of my favorite Easter eggs in Avengers: Endgame was the glimpse of the original Ant-Man helmet in the lab of Hank Pym.  I loved the brief flashbacks with Pym in super hero mode in the two Ant-Man movies, and it would be great to see another with him using his first helmet and costume.  Maybe that's something we will get to see in a third installment or even in The Fantastic Four's Marvel debut, which at this early stage is rumored to be a period piece.

These two first crossed paths in STF #907...

Ant-Man and Doll Man

The Marvel movie I am most curious about right now is Ant-Man.  It just seems like it could go either way - It seems like there will be changes from the characters we know in the comics and the departures of the original director and some actors as well have given me my doubts.  On the other hand, I love the cast that has been assembled and I am sure the shrinking effects will be a lot of fun.  I am still remaining cautiously optimistic on this one, hopefully we will get to see some actual footage soon.

The Freedom Fighters and The Invaders

You have to love a big sprawling superhero wartime story.  Unfortunately, judging by the solicitations,  it looks like the new Earth Two series from DC will be taking place during current times, severing the JSA from the backdrop of World War II once and for all.  While I can understand the desire to modernize their line, I think they are letting go of a big part of the appeal of the Goden Age characters.  I always enjoy seeing superhero period pieces and even when those characters are brought into present day, it's cool to see how they interact with others, given their sensibilities from a bygone era.

The Thing and The Freedom Fighters

I was sorry to see that the latest Freedom Fighters series was cancelled in under a year. I was enjoying it and hoped it would have found a larger audience. Maybe this is a team best served by a series of mini-series, rather than an ongoing title. I'd love to see some adventures of the original Freedom Fighters as well, there a precious few tales of them while they were in their fighting prime. It's another reason that a DCU series set in the WWII era would be nice, so we could see adventures of the various members of the Freedom Fighters as well as the All-Star Squadron and JSA during their heyday.

Batman and Doll Man

Sometimes these come out of the blue, even for me. I was looking for images of a completely different character and stumbled on a cover of Doll Man holding a key. I knew instantly of a picture it could work with, because I always thought that this Batman in cuffs cover by Brian Bolland was very eye catching.

I remember reading tales of Doll Man in a few 100-Page Spectaculars that DC used to publish. I liked his solo adventures more than his time with The Freedom Fighters, as the art on the stories was always well done.
