Kang Vs. The Time Trapper

Continued from yesterday's cover, we see that The Flash isn't the only one that has gained attention for his time warping ways.  Visitors to this page, like Blog Patron Bob Greenwade, have suggested that Kang run afoul of The Time Trapper, and I have to agree that would make for an epic battle. Maybe together they can make some sense of DC Continuity!

Captain Atom and U.S.Agent

I really liked the redesign that Pat Broderick gave to Captain Atom's costume when DC brought the Charlton heroes into the DCU.  It's simple and effective - you just know the guy is powerful by looking at him.  There have been a few attempts to redesign his look since, but that always looked a little busy to me and didn't really work.  He looked great in animation as well, always a good test of a costumes effectiveness.

Spider-Man and Tarantula

The golden age Tarantula had a very generic looking costume until Jerry Ordway gave him a makeover in the pages of All-Star Squadron.  I loved the brown and black outfit that was spider-themed while still being a very original design.  It's too bad that the character has all but disappeared since that series ended.

The Bronze Tiger Vs. Captain America

Suicide Squad was a critical misfire, but it seems like a sequel is still in the works.  Hopefully they will change things up by adding a few new members.  I'd love to see The Bronze Tiger join the team.  I liked him in the John Ostrander-written Suicide Squad comic.  He gave the team a moral compass as he was one of the few members without a villainous background, and it made for interesting interactions with the rest of the team.

Adam Strange Vs. Galactus / Guardian Vs. Guardian

With all the snowstorms this season, it's been a good time to hole up inside and watch some double features.  In that spirit, this cover features a couple of tales that I think would make for a fun one-two punch of a comic.

The Phantom and The Phantom Stranger

I'm surprised that we haven't seen a live action Phantom Stranger yet.  We didn't even get an animated version until the sadly missed Batman: The Brave and the Bold featured him in the fan-favorite episode, "Chill of the Night".  Still, he seems like an easy character to translate to live action, but where would we see him first?  Arrow has plenty of guest stars from the DCU, but The Phantom Stranger doesn't really travel in the same circles as Oliver Queen.  Maybe he will show up in the upcoming Constantine series.  There was Rumblings of a Deadman series a while back, that could be a good option as well.  And of course, there's the Guillermo Del Toro-led Dark Universe movie featuring the mystcial characters of the DCU... but with Superman/Batman delayed a year who knows how long it will be for a film like that to be put on the front burner? So many possibilities, hopefully one will work out.
