Batgirl and Spider-Man (The Movie!)

 

Now this is a TV movie that would have had me staying up late and sneaking into my older brother's room to watch.  Two superheroes teaming up, with one portrayed by the gorgeous Yvonne Craig? Count me in.

Emma Peel, Batgirl and Lieutenant Uhura

 

It was sad to hear of the passing of Nichelle Nichols this week.  I can only imagine how many people that she inspired through her breakthrough role as Lieutenant Uhura on Star Trek. She seemed to have a genuine love for the character as well as her fans, and she will be missed.

The Greatest American Hero and Batgirl

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Yvonne Craig yesterday.  I still maintain that she is my favorite comic book heroine to yet appear in live action.  She played the character straight despite the camp around her, few others have ever looked as good in their superhero outfits and you had to dig that tripped out motorcycle. I hope she knew how many fans she had because of Batman and Star Trek.  Rest in peace, Yvonne Craig.

Batgirl and the Black Widow (The Movie!)

I have enjoyed Scarlett Johansson's performance as The Black Widow in the various Marvel movies that she has appeared in.  She has nice chemistry with all of the large cast and holds her own in the action scenes alongside her super power enhanced costars.  I do wish that she sported at least a slight Russian accent, as that is always how I imagined the character might sound.  Still, for a live action red haired super-heroine, my favorite has to be Yvonne Craig's Batgirl.  I don't think anyone has ever looked as good in a superhero outfit as she did.
