Robin and Mockingbird

Bobbi Morse had such success recruiting Nightwing into  S.H.I.E. L.D. in STF #4088, that it looks like she decided to also bring in the original Dick Grayson as a well! It's probably for the best, he's been looking for a new purpose after finding himself unstuck in the Multiverse as a result of battling Kang in STF #1744.

Legion of Super-Heroes and Squadron Supreme

Getting the LSH on the big screen will face the same hurdles as Shazam!  if you want a series of films, you run the risk of the young actors aging too rapidly and they've already outgrown their roles in a few years. I knw Warner Bros.  is trying to get away from expensive streaming series, but that might be the best solution for such a property.

Power Girl and Power Man in: "Fire in the Night!"

As cool as it will be to see what looks to be a variant Supergirl that may be Superman's daughter in The Flash, it does seem like another missed opportunity to at long last bring Power Girl to live action.  They've avoided using her on the WB TV Supergirl show, and she is nowhere to be seen in the DCEU.  When will Karen Starr finally get her shot?

This marks the 11th appearance of The Power Couple on this blog...

Adam Strange Vs. The Red Skull

Has anyone checked out the new Strange Adventures series by Tom King?  I was wondering if I should pick it up once collected, but King is a very hit or miss writer with me. I quite liked his Mister Miracle work, and have heard nothing but good stuff about his Vision mini series, but I was actively turned off from what I have seen of his writing for Heroes in Crisis and Batman.  Still, I like Adam Strange and Mr. Terrific, so I'd be interested to know if this current series does them justice.

Wonder Man and Starfire

I can see a story with these two together.  As an actor/stunt man and model that also operate as superheroes, they spend their days in front of the camera and their nights fighting crime.  They would be sure to cross paths sooner or later.  A misunderstanding leads to fighting and eventually joining forces against the true enemy.  That would have been worth my sixty cents.

The Human Fly and The Fly

One Marvel series I never got around to reading was The Human Fly.  I saw ads in other comics for it, but never remember seeing copies for sale.  The concept did intrigue me, though - a superhero based on a real life stunt man!  Was the title any good?

Hercules and Mary Marvel

Shazam! has finished filming and now the movie is in the visual effects stage, so hopefully there will be enough completed to show us some footage soon.  The film promises to finally have some lighter fare in contrast to the heavy goings-on that we have seen in the DCEU thus far, so I have hope that it will mark a turning point and strike a positive chord with audiences.

Hawkeye and The Huntress in "Honor Thy Mother and Father!"

This is the fourth appearance on the blog featuring these heroic siblings.

They first appeared together in STF #505...

Next, they had a twisted family reunion in STF #1387...

which continued into the next issue, STF #1388...

Green Lantern and The West Coast Avengers

When The West Coast Avengers first appeared, I thought that it was a great idea.  There were too many members of The Avengers at that time to feature on a single team, so I loves the idea of a second group operating on the other side of the country.  I especially liked the idea of Hawkeye as team leader - he had always claimed that he could do a better job than Cap, so I was glad to see him finally get his chance.  Of course, these days, Marvel has completely overdone the concept, with new Avenger spin-off teams popping up on a regular basis.  It once was a big deal to be granted Avengers membership, now it's hard to think of many Marvel heroes who aren't a part of the team.

Elongated Man and The Avengers

I remember fondly the issues of Justice League of America in which "Metamorpho says 'No!'" and Black Lightning calls the JLA "turkeys" when asked to join the ranks.  It was shocking that anyone would not want to be a member and those made for great stories.  Nowadays nobody turns the Avengers or JLA down, and they are bursting at the seams.

Batman and Shadowman

DC looks to have a huge presentation ready for this year's San Diego Comic Con, and with Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad sizzle reels ready to go, it seem we will get our first real looks at Ben Affleck in action as the Dark Knight.  I am sure there will be some more surprises as well - maybe more word on casting for Green Lantern or Shazam.  I really hope we will get an Affleck-directed Batman solo film eventually - he seems to have the right feel for it.
