Batwoman and Daughters of the Dragon

 

The CW's Batwoman series has been losing even more viewers in its second season, and I'm not really surprised.  Javicia Leslie is a better actress that Ruby Rose was, but the switch in lead characters is not enough to overcome the sub-par writing on the show.  A much better take on Batwoman can be found in the somewhat overlooked Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman animated movie.   The 2003 adventure has a great identity reveal, which I won't spoil here if you have not watched it yet.

Elektra and Batwoman

The next season of Netflix' Daredevil can't get here soon enough for me. One of the aspects that I am most looking forward to is the introduction of Elektra into the series.  The relationship that she and Matt Murdock share in the comics is one of the greatest and it will be nice to see another take after the first theatrical attempt.  I mean, a plain clothes battle in a playground? I still shake my head at the thought of that scene.

Batwoman and Spider-Woman

Spider-Woman is the latest heroine to have a makeover and while her classic outfit is a favorite of mine, I can understand the change.  It's amazing that she went so long with her original look, really.  The new costume seems to be designed to be more movie friendly, and looks influenced by Batgirl's recent redesign as well.  I think they did a decent job with the new look, we'll see if it sticks.

Dick Tracy and Batwoman

There's something about the original Batwoman that I always got a kick out of.  Maybe it was the the way she flustered Batman and Robin by involving herself in their adventures, or maybe it was just her cool looking costume, complete with Bat-Purse, that you could never get away with today.  It might have been fun to see her mix it up with Dick Tracy the way she would with the caped crusaders.  They both looked great in yellow!
