New Teen Titans and Alpha Flight

Presenting part One of a Three Part tale!  Looks like the NTT and Alpha Flight are participating in a hero exchange program.  Which two heroes will be involved?  You can guess now or just wait until part two tomorrow!

Alpha Flight and Booster Gold

Ah,the death of Guardian from Alpha Flight #12 - it was truly a shocking moment.  In those pre-internet days it was a secret kept from me until I actually read the issue.  I remember seeing the ads for the issue with gun sights over images of the entire team, warning readers that one will die... bu I never expected it to be the team leader, James MacDonald Hudson! It's great that we have such bigger and faster means of communications these days, but that's made it harder and harder to maintain surprises in comics, TV and movies.

Justice Society Vs. Alpha Flight (And More!)

Wow, hard to believe we are at STF #2800 already (cover #3310 overall) - time flies!

While the Justice League may have missed the mark in their big screen attempt, the Justice Society is ready for their chance at live action.  They are going to be featured in as supporting players and in flashback scenes on the upcoming Stargirl series, which looks fun based on the trailer.  Then there's the Black Adam movie, which also promises to feature a number of JSA members as well. It'll be interesting to see which characters make the cut for both projects.

Al Pratt and Puck would later work together. as told in STF #720...

Doom Patrol and Alpha Flight

Alpha Flight is another team like the Doom Patrol that has gone through many changes and incarnations over the years.  Nothing has ever quite been able to capture the magic of the original team that was introduced in Uncanny X-Men for me though - the farther that Marvel strays away from that, the less it has worked for me.  Give me the original line-up any day, I loved the first few years of their comic.

Alpha Flight and Captain Marvel

One Marvel property that I never hear mentioned for live action is Alpha Flight.   I'm not even sure who holds the rights - I guess they began as an X-Men spinoff, which would put them under 20th Century Fox' control?  I love the original line up and I think they would make for a fun action packed film.  Let's hope that Canada's premier super-team gets its due.

Green Lantern and Alpha Flight

I loved the first couple of years of the original Alpha Flight series.  John Byrne was at the top of his game and I was already a fan of the characters from their appearances in X-Men and Marvel Two-In-One.  Then there was the shake up on the team at the end of their first twelve issues which was completely unexpected.  Attempts to revive the team have never quite captured the same magic for me.

Alpha Flight and The Justice League of America

Little did I know when I created this cover months back that by the time I posted it, there would be an actual Justice League Canada comic!   Well, they changed the name to Justice League United at the last minute, but I think the team will still be referred to as JLC within the covers. It looks worth checking out - I like writer Jeff LeMire and the cast of Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Stargirl, Hawkman, Animal Man, Supergirl and Adam Strange is an appealing one.  I'm not so sure about the description of the New 52 Adam Strange as more of a science geek than a swashbuckling hero, though - that doesn't sound like the daring character that I loved from my youth.

Batman and Alpha Flight

Here's an issue where I couldn't find an appropriate Aparo Batman for so I opted to use a piece by Shawn McManus from Legends of the Dark Knight.

Alpha Flight is another one of those properties where Marvel just couldn't leave well enough alone. If they revived the series with the original cast from Byrne's run, I bet it would find a following, but every revival seems to have too many radical changes in roster and tone and does not last long. Alpha Flight is like the Doom Patrol of Marvel in that way.
