Robotman and Jocasta

here we have a human brain encased in a robotic body and a robotic body programmed with human brain patterns.  I think that these two would work together well.

The Eternity 8

This team is a place to give second chances to some heroes that I thought were taken before their prime.  These being comic characters, a couple of them have actually made a return to the land of the living.  I still wince at the memory of reading Katma Tui's death at the hands of Star Sapphire - that one hurt!

Jocasta and Red Tornado

Red Tornado has faced off against Ultron a couple of times before on the bog (Once with his team Robo Force in STF #202, and later with Robotman in STF #783), but it looks like the evil android finally got the upper hand - let's hope that Jocasta can sort things out. Jocasta and Reddy previously met in STF #3142...

I was happy to use a Red Tornado image from the incredibly talented Matt Haley.  I was fortunate enough to be able to pick up an original illustration by him several years back (originally used for a Wizard Magazine Article, I believe):

Jocasta Vs. Amazo

Jocasta has a great design and interesting origin and in my opinion is always a welcome addition to any Avengers line up. I'm not sure whether she's hanging with them these days or spending time with Machine Man as she often does.  It's high time she got the spotlight a mini-series of her own.  She's spent decades as a supporting character, let's see how she does as a lead.

Red Tornado and Jocasta

I have always thought that Jocasta has a lot of potential as a character.  I love her design and origin as a bride to Ultron with the brain patterns of Janet Van Dyne.  It's always cool to see her show up and I hope she finds her way into the MCU one of these days.

Superman and Machine Man & Jocasta

Brainiac's "skull" ship is one of my favorite vessels in comics.  Not only does it look cool, it perfectly represents the vanity of the villain that commandeers it.  I am glad that even though Brainiac himself has been redesigned multiple times since its first appearance, the ship has more or less stood the test of time.

Superman and Machine Man crossed paths once before back in STF #770...

Jocasta and Magnus: Robot Fighter

I'm not sure why I have always liked Jocasta.  Maybe it is because she is from my favorite era of the Avengers, or that she has ties to Ultron (my favorite villain of theirs), or maybe just because she has a really cool design.  At any rate, I always enjoy when she makes an appearance in a story.

These two shared an adventure once before, with Machine Man along for the ride...

Machine Man & Jocasta Vs. Magnus: Robot Fighter

Like a lot of young comic fans, I created my own comics as a kid.  I had a whole bunch - Alastor the Avenger (who I spoke briefly on in my STF 1000th Issue Spectacular) was my main guy, but I created some other heroes and villains for him to interact with (when I wasn't teaming him with a real DC or Marvel hero).  There was The Lynx, The Gimmick, Clay, Sonic Man and... Machine Man!  I was surprised to find out a few years later that there was a real hero going by that name - with similar abilities to the ones I came up with.  My guy was more of a Cliff Steel Robotman type.  Has anyone else had a similar experience?

The Avengers Vs. The Crime Syndicate

I featured the JLA against one of the Avengers' villains yesterday, so it's only fair that to reverse that idea today.  I have always liked that the Crime Syndicate were not just evil versions of the Justice League members, they were from a whole parallel universe where everything was flipped on its head.  Writers like Grant Morrison really had fun with the concept of that alternate reality. Based on the most recent line-wide event, it looks like they are right in the center of the current goings on in the DCU these days.

The Metal Men, Machine Man and Jocasta

I read recently that Barry Sonnenfeld is going to direct a Metal Men film.  I have always thought that they were a great fit for animation, and indeed loved their appearances on Batman: The Brave and the Bold.  It will be interesting to see what angle Sonnenfeld goes with, whether the film will be all CGI or live action with CG enhancements.  Either way, I hope that this film comes to pass and a new generation of fans get to see how fun these characters are.

Batman and Jocasta

Jocasta springs from my favorite era of The Avengers and I have always liked her as a character. I really like the look they came up with for her, attractive yet cold and robotic at the same time.  She seems to have been off the table for many years, but Dan Slott recently brought her back in his Mighty Avengers run and it was nice to see her getting some much deserved screen time.

This is a continued story, by the way - tune in for part two tomorrow!
