It look like the latest big change in Superman comics is the revelation of his secret identity to the world. I'm not a huge fan of this, it's too big a genie to put back in the bottle without yet another continuity reboot or even worse, a bargain with the devil! What's with secret identities going away, anyway? There seem to be fewer and fewer heroes that bother with them. With a character as iconic as Superman, it's part of the whole appeal to me, and I hate to see it discarded.

Superman and Tintin
With all of the uncertainty concerning the future of Superman in the movies, I am glad we at least get to see Tyler Hoechlin reprise the role on the currently in progress CW Elseworlds crossover event. There have also been rumors that a spinoff Superman CW series featuring Hoechlin is in the planning stages, something I would be all for.

Superman and Mandrake the Magician
Given Superman's vulnerability to magic, I am surprised that he wasn't paired up with DC's mystical characters more often. He didn't have much interaction with Doctor Fate or The Spectre, despite their Justice Society of America connection. Zatara was also introduced in Action Comics #1, and yet I don't recall if they ever shared an adventure together... which would have been cool to see.

Superman and Mickey Mouse
I'd like to take this time to wish all of the visitors to this blog a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope that you are spending this day in the company of the ones you love and it is filled with joy. It's been another fun year on the blog, passing STF #2000, with over 2500 overall and getting close to the 5 millionth visitor! Pros like Tony Isabella, Gail Simone and Patrick Zircher and more have contributed cover ideas, quite an honor. It's been fun to have appearances on Geek to Me Radio, His Dork World/Her Dork World and to be featured on The Geeky Gentlemen podcast, thanks to all of them for having me. This year the comments section has become quite interesting and active, it's been fun to read. I truly appreciate all the kind words, comments and suggestions therein. Of course, a huge thanks to the Patrons of this blog - your support makes a huge difference! It's been a blast, here's to another year!

Superman and The Black Terror
The Black Terror is one of those Golden Age characters that I never got around to reading - but I was always intrigued by his cool looking costume. I must not be the only one because now that the character is in the public domain, many a comic publishing company has featured him in their stories. I checked him out in the Dynamite series, Project Superpowers by Jim Kreuger and Alex Ross and he was pretty cool there.
