Bugs Bunny and The Lord of the Rings

Bugs Bunny dug his way into a lot of interesting locales in the cartoons that I watched and enjoyed as a kid.  It might have been fun to see him find himself smack dab in the middle of of Tolkein's world. Sauron wouldn't know what hit him.

Gandalf and Boba Fett

May the Fourth be With You!  These guys could have gotten a lot done if they swapped franchises.  That jet pack would have come in handy on the trip to Mount Doom.  And Gandalf's Staff against a Light Saber is a battle that would be epic to see!

Council of Wizards

While I quite enjoyed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, I think I'd still rank the first Doctor Strange movie higher than it, for a couple of reasons.  First, it had a better, more cohesive story (extensive reshoots and cuts reportedly altered the sequel's original narrative), and more importantly it had Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One.  Her presence was missed.  I haven't seen the new Fantastic Beasts film yet, but I'll be sure to check it out when it hits streaming for some fun Dumbledore spell casting action.

Black Knight and Shining Knight in: "All Roads Lead To Mordor!"

With all the talk of superhero multiverses lately, the rest of the world is just catching up to the cool crossover possibilities that visitors to this blog have been aware of for a decade plus! Here's another concept that might be cool to explore in the screen - the medieval heroes of Marvel and DC in the world of The Lord of the Rings!  Well, I'd be interested in checking it out anyway!

These two Knights first crossed paths way back in STF #138...

Gandalf and Bone

I was a huge fan of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.  I loved every minute of them - even the extended director's cuts.  His Hobbit trilogy, I felt was a bit bloated and overstuffed -  it really should have only been a single movie.  So, I am wary about the new LOTR being prepared for Amazon Prime, will there be enough new material to explore?  I'll go into it with an open mind, Hopefully it will do Tolkein proud.  One show I am really looking forward to is the  Netflix adaptation of Jeff Smith's Bone.  I can't wait to see some footage so we have a feel for what the series will be like.  It's a good time to be a fantasy fan.

Gandalf and Elfquest

I always admired the beautiful artwork on Elfquest, but I never got around to checking out the series.  It seemed like such an epic adventure that I would have to read the complete collection to appreciate it all, not a series that I could just jump into the middle of with a random issue.  I heard off an on about an animated adaptation being planned, but nothing ever seemed to come of that.  Hopefully It will get made one of these days.
