Raven and Moon Knight

When Marc Tyler Nobleman, comics' historian and Patron of this Blog, suggested this pairing, I agreed that these heroes would be interesting to see work with one another.  Then I realized that using Raven's white outfit would make them go together visually as well.  Thanks, Marc!

Superman and Thor in: "The Kryptonian Transfusion!"

I haven't had these two together for a while, and I thought it was time to feature them together again.  Superman and Thor have shared other STF adventures:

in Issue #1155, they paid for the sins of their fathers...

in Issue #994, they starred in an all-Kirby classic...

In Issue #949, they battled Amazo and the Taskmaster...

In Issue #155, they were confronted by their fathers...

In Issue #31, they squared off against Mongul...

and they first crossed paths way back in Issue #17.

The Micronauts and Nightwing & Flamebird

This is just the kind of crazy circumstance that I would expect to see  in a story about The Bottle City of Kandor.  I'd think The Micronauts would be right at home there, there must be a good reason that they want out.

Thor and Lois Lane

I've liked the quick moments that we have seen of Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane, and I am looking forward to seeing her performance in full when Superman is released to theaters.  I have to give a tip of the hat to the costume designers as well.  Her outfits seem definitely inspired by those that Lois wore on Superman: The Animated Series.

Blind Justice in: "When Destiny Calls!"

For the second outing featuring this team of sightless heroes, I thought that I would have them run into a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants who uses a different type of vision.  But just what does she see in the group's future? Blind Justice first appeared in STF #2290...

Adam Strange and the Inhumans in: "Tomorrow's Terror... Today!"

There's a little too much light pollution where I live, so I don't pull out my telescope to use very often.  When I do, I like to check out Jupiter or Saturn if I can, and looking close up at the Moon is always cool.  It makes me think about the dark side which never faces us - who's to say there isn't a Blue Area over there, just waiting for a team of heroes to call it it their home base?

Adam Strange first met The Inhumans in STF #4372...

Batgirl & Robin Vs. The Sinister Six

With Kraven about to make his cinematic debut, we will finally have seen live action versions of all of the Sinister Six.  Spider-Man: No Way Home came kind of close, but it's too bad we never got a proper Spidey Vs. The Sinister Six Movie.

Dick Grayson will face off against a slightly different Six lineup once he transitions into Nightwing, as seen in STF #3738...

Man-Bat and The Abomination

This would be an interesting match up.  Man-Bat has agility and flight at his advantage, while The Abomination has his incredible strength.  No matter who wins, it would be cool to see them join forces against The Grandmaster at the end of the story.

Legion of Super-Heroes and Daredevil

I remember loving the first Secret Wars mini-series, but it did have one glaring flaw.  If this was really supposed to be a team up of all of Marvel's big stars, I think that Daredevil should have been included.  Probably Power Man and Iron Fist as well, but definitely DD.  It was just as big an omission as when Hal Jordan was completely left out of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Lex Luthor Vs. Ultron

Lex Luthor has had enough experience with Brainiac that he might just have some contingency plans to deal with the robotic likes of Ultron.  At least he has a big enough ego to try... too bad for him that Ultron can match him in the ego department!

Clark Kent and The Watcher

I remember being amused that there were sometimes back-up stories featuring "The Private Life of Clark Kent!"  I guess Superman was so popular that not only his supporting cast but also his non-costumed secret identity got to have solo features.  The stories were fun though, and the writers were usually able to sneak some super-heroics in there despite Clark remaining in civilian clothes.

Madman and Krypto

James Gunn has proven very adept at including animal characters in his films.  There have been rumors that Krypto will be making his big screen debut in the DCU, and I can't wait to see how that is handled.  Let's hope Ace the Bat Hound isn't too far behind!

The Totalitarians in: "When Cthulhu Calls!"

The is a group that I have had a lot of return requests for.  It took some thinking to come up with a good adversary for them.   What better than one of the greatest monsters of myth?

The Totalitarians first banded together in STF #1380...

Supergirl and Spider-Woman in: "Deathplunge!"

Supergirl and Spider-Woman are about to hit the big screen, although as variants in each case. Issa Rae will be voicing Spider-Woman Jessica Drew from another universe in Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, and then a couple of weeks later Sasha Calle will star as an other dimensional Supergirl in The Flash.  From what I have seen, both look to be impressive.  Still, I hope we will get to see the versions we know from the comics in the theaters at some point down the line.

Supergirl and Spider-Woman previously met trying to avoid becoming super-villain brides in STF #2555...

Iron Man Vs. Amazo

I love those hip-discs on Iron Man's classic design.  I'm not sure what special purpose they served, but I have seen that they are loaded with circuitry when he's removed them, though.  Mostly I just think they look cool, like the widow's peak and buccaneer boots on this design.  Maybe someday we'll see it in live action.

Superman and Throg

We say Throg the Thor Frog make a cameo in the first season of Loki.  Now that the Disney+ series is set to return, I really hope we get a chance to see him again.  Let's see him break loose from his bottle trap and pull off some mini-Mojlnir stunts! I know that I would certainly be entertained.

Throg met the Man of Steel along with some other JLA members back in STF #557...

Legion of Super-Pets and The Herculoids

I've always been a fan of The Herculoids, and mostly because of the alien creatures on the team.  I liked that they were not treated as pets, but equal members of the roster.  Alex Toth's amazing designs made them always look cool, despite the limited animation.  My only gripe was Zok the Dragon's loud screech, which was a bit overused and could get a little annoying.

Legion of Super-Heroes and Squadron Supreme

Getting the LSH on the big screen will face the same hurdles as Shazam!  if you want a series of films, you run the risk of the young actors aging too rapidly and they've already outgrown their roles in a few years. I knw Warner Bros.  is trying to get away from expensive streaming series, but that might be the best solution for such a property.

Nightwing & Flamebird and Power Man & Iron Fist

I thought that it was time to have a meeting between the coolest crimefighting pairs of the Silver and Bronze ages.  Sure the stories may now appear too quaint or the costumes too bright and bold to pull off in a modern setting, but I always got a kick out of reading about all of these guys.

Marvel Boy and Superboy

I'm looking forward to the return of Superman and Lois next week.  At least we will have a decent TV version of the Man of Steel while Warner Bros. movie decision decides what they want to do with the character.  Most fans seem to simply want a Henry Cavill sequel film, but that doesn't seem in the cards.  We do have a variant Supergirl coming up in The Flash (Superman's daughter?) and two separate movies in development featuring African American versions of Superman (one a period piece and one featuring Val-Zod).  There are some rumors of a Cavill Superman showing up in either Black Adam or Shazam: Fury of the Gods, but I have my doubts that either will come to pass.
