Duck Dodgers and Darkwing Duck in: "Duck Destiny!"

Here's a pairing that is worthy of a revisit.  It would only a be matter of time before these web-footed swashbucklers would cross paths if they were owned by the same company.  They aren't, of course, but that's what STF: The Lost Issues is here for!

These two first appeared together in STF #4207...

Darkwing Duck and Duck Dodgers

Doctor Doom faced off against Bugs Bunny in STF 4120, so it was only a matter of time before that envious Daffy had to take his own crack at the Lord of Latveria.  At least he had the good sense to bring along Darkwing Duck to help out.

Justice League of America Vs. Duck Dodgers

The Duck Dodgers shorts are among my favorite Daffy Duck appearances.  Like all kids, I loved the Looney Tunes characters, and I was fascinated with outer space epics once Star Wars hit the scene in 1977 - so anything that combined the two was sure to appeal to my young eyes.  Heck, they still appeal to my rapidly aging eyes!

Duck Dodgers and Spaceman Spiff

I recently completed my re-read of the entire Calvin & Hobbes run, and my admiration for Bill Watterson has only grown.  It's amazing how strong his art and writing are on the strip from the very beginning.  Often features will take some time to find their footing characterization and design wise, but C&H is just about perfect right from the first week - and never wavered in quality until its completion.

Spaceman Spiff Vs. Duck Dodgers

This would certainly be a battle for the ages.  But would it be the most epic confrontation of the 24th and 1/2 century, or is it all a distraction in Calvin's mind to keep him from completing his homework assignment?  The answer is just six dimes away!

Duck Dodgers and The Jetsons

When The Flintstones were brought to the big screen, I figured that a live action Jetsons movie would follow soon afterwards.  With the recent successes of humorous outer space action films, and the name recognition and nostalgia factor, I think the time is right to start looking at the property again.  Ed Helms for George, Ellie Kemper for Jane and Danny De Vito for Mr. Spacely?

The Saturn 6

Just because you are tasked with protecting the cosmos, it doesn't mean that you can't do it with an enjoyment of the job and a healthy dose of humor.  That's the idea behind this team.  I think the biggest challenge that they might face is determining who to lead the group - they all seem to be the type that are more comfortable with handing out orders rather than following them.

Star Trek and Duck Dodgers

I recently checked out the animated Star Trek series on Netflix.  I had only seen one episode decades ago and I only had dim memories of it.  The animation is very limited with a lot of re-used footage and static poses, but I must say that it was fun to have the original cast providing the voices.  I also liked the addition of truly alien looking crew members years before such a thing would happen in live action.  It's a fun glimpse into the past, but I would only recommend it for die-hard Trek fans.  The Looney Tunes cartoons are a different story altogether.  While they predate the Trek series, they hardly seem dated to me at all.  I can pop in one of the collections and they impress and amuse me as much as the first time I watched them.
