Jonah Hex and Data

Who knows how the Chief Operations Officer of The Enterprise found his way to the old West, or how Hex will react in the next few seconds.  It would be fun to find out, though, and fun to see these two interact.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Vs. Galactus

Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Enterprise have successfuly dealt with a lot of powerful entities through diplomacy and strategy.  Still, I think that Galactus would give them a run for their money.  It would be fun to see what negotiations between them and the World Devourer would look like - especially when those talks break down.

Star Trek: TNG, The Watcher and Mr. Mxyzptlk

I've been getting a kick out of What If? on Disney+.  The animation style took some getting used to, but now I think it's pretty cool.  My favorite episode so far has been the Dr. Strange-centric one.  Jeffrey Wright as The Watcher is so good that I hope he brings the role to live action in a future movie.  I have a feeling we'll be seeing some of the characters and storyline in this show included in upcoming MCU films.

Rival Robo Force

I liked the roster of this all-new Robo Force team so much that I decided to give them their own cover.

This is Robo Force's seventh appearance on the blog - This rival group was introduced in STF #2450... they battled Magnus: Robot Fighter in STF #2090... they faced off against Brainiac in STF #1850... they almost lost one of their own in STF #1450... they battled Ultron in STF #202 and first became a team back in STF #150...

Robo Force in: "Rise of the Rival Robo Force!"

I've received so many suggestions for additional members to this blog's first team that I decided  to create a story about it! So who would come out on top  in this conflict?

Data Vs. The Anti-Monitor

Continued from yesterday's cover, we se that our heroes did indeed retrieve Data.  The Data and Picard-centric episodes were always my favorites from Star Trek: The Next Generation.  It's too bad that the natural aging of Brent Spiner probably prevents him from playing Data any further - there's only so many times they can drop in lines like, "Captain, I have initiated the double chin and love handle subroutine to more closely approximate the human experience."

Data and The Vision

The first close look at The Vision from Avengers: The Age of Ultron has been leaked, and I very much like what I see.  Sure I could nitpick - the  high collar and belt are missing and the simple diamond chest emblem seems to have been replaced with a more busy one - but for all intents and purposes, The Paul Bettany Vision looks very close to the comic character that I have read about for years.  I hope he gets plenty of screen time, despite being the new guy on the block.

Chewbacca Joins Star Trek: The Next Generation

It's nice to see the two big science fiction franchises still going strong.  We should be seeing a trailer for the next Star Trek film soon, and I am looking forward to it since I quite enjoyed the first outing by JJ Abrams and the new crew.  Star Wars is set to explode again, now that it is under the control of Diseny.  The two bits that I have heard confirmed regarding Episode 7 - that it will be written by Toy Story 3's Michael Arndt and that it will feature Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher - have me very interested.  Hopefully the visions of Jar Jar and a 10 year old Darth Vader saying, "Yipppeeee!" will fade away for good now.

The Green Lantern Corps Vs. Star Trek: TNG

It's cool to see that Star Trek has started getting around in their comic book incarnations.  There was a team-up with The X-Men several years back, and more recently they have been seen alongside The Legion of Super-Heroes and Doctor Who.  It would be fun to see them cross paths with the GLC.  There could be so many side pairings - Kilowog/Worf, Data/Salaak, Riker/Jordan... and who wouldn't want to read a chapter featuring Reginald Barclay and Chaselon?  This thing writes itself!

The Thing and Star Trek: The Next Generation

I was a big fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation during it's run. The first couple of seasons were fun, but by the third the show had really started to hit its stride. I can always tell if a rerun is going to be good by if Riker has a beard in it or not. My favorite episodes focused on either Picard or Data as those were my favorite characters. I also loved any episode concerning frequent guest star Dwight Schultz as Reginald Barclay, those were always interesting. The TNG films have been a mixed bag, but I do feel that First Contact is one of the best Star Trek films with any cast. Star Trek: TNG's two-part episodes were always the highlight of the season. The Best of Both Worlds, which introduced the Borg and Unification, featuring Spock, are a couple favorites. Of course to me the absolute best Star Trek:TNG epsode is the finale, All Good Things. In fact, I would have to pick that as my favorite final episode for any series... it really was a great send-off.
