Ultraman Vs. Red Hulk

 

We've seen Superman battle the Hulk before, but these two dark reflections would probably really let loose on one another.  There would definitely be a lot of collateral damage in this one - but who wins?

Red Hulk and Captain Atom

 

Well, the cat is out of the bag and it has been officially announced that Harrison Ford will be taking over the role of Thunderbolt Ross from the late William Hurt in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie.  There is no confirmation yet that Ross will at some point in the film transform into Red Hulk - but Marvel would be crazy if they did not take full advantage of the ability to have Ford Hulk out!  Suddenly, this movie has gotten a lot more interesting to me.

Red Lanterns and Red Hulk

It was fun to see Dex-Starr and some other Red Lanterns show up on Justice League Action.  I also got a kick out of their appearances on the Green Lantern CGI series a few years back.  You can tell that the artists and creators really had fun with the character designs for the Corps members - and they really translate well to animation.

Red Robin and Red Hulk

I have long been on record about feeling that there is too much duplication of characters, and the multiple Hulks and Robins running around are some of the prime culprits.  Still, I have to admit that there have been some fun stories involving these two guys.  It all depends on the creative team, after all.  Even so, my preference would be to have Thunderbolt Ross as his old military self, and Tim Drake as the third (or even second) Robin.  I don't know if those genies are ever going back into the bottle though....

Superman Vs. The Hulks

Actually, I wouldn't mind this comic being real, to just weed out the glut of Hulks.  Don't get me wrong, I liked that Hulk had some gamma related supporting characters back in the day.  Doc Samson and She-Hulk were interesting spins on the Hulk theme.  But somewhere along the line it got crazy, with his entire main supporting cast of Betty Ross, Rick Jones and Thunderbolt Ross now being Hulks themselves, and they even have a Hulk Jr. running around!  Yeesh, it just dilutes the brand in my eyes.  That said, I do understand that Red Hulk and some of the others have gained a following, so maybe I should give the comics another chance.

Batman and Red Hulk

I've been on record as being against the dilution of characters by introducing too many offshoots.  Batman and The Hulk are two of the biggest offenders these days.  Batman is now incorporated and the Hulk now has Red Hulk, Skarr, She-Hulk. Savage She-Hulk, Red She-Hulk, Doc Samson, A-Bomb and more following in his wake.  It strikes me as a lack of inventiveness and risk taking by creators much in the same way that most big budget movies seem to be remakes, sequels or TV show adaptations.  That said, I have to admit I have enjoyed some of the stories that Red Hulk (or "Rulk") has appeared in and he admittedly has a very cool visual.  I enjoy the powerful art of Ed McGuiness as well, so I thought I would give this cover a shot.  So, OK - he's not such a bad character after all.  Still, I'd like to see some more entirely new comic concepts show up in the future.
