Ms. Marvel and Supergirl in: "The Doomsday/Destroyer War!"

For the 17th Appearance of The Danvers Twins on this blog, I thought that I would put them up against two of the toughest bruisers in comics. I'm thinking that and action packed issue like this one would have to include some epic splash pages and at least one double page spread.

Ms. Marvel and Supergirl in: "Nothing Stops Cosmonox!"

This marks the sweet sixteenth appearance of The Danvers Twins on the Blog.  Despite the fact that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has not begun filming yet, Milly Alcock has been seen sporting long blonde hair recently.  This has led to speculation that she will be appearing as the famous Kryptonian cousin at least briefly in the upcoming Superman movie. That sounds like a good theory, I'm guessing she will show up right at the end or in a post-credits scene.

Supergirl and Captain Marvel (Vs. Hela!)

This cover marks the 15th appearance of The Danvers Twins.  I think that Bob Greenwade, a Patron of this Blog, has a good chance to win the movie role teased here - he's been suggesting a Benoist/Larson cover appearance for a while now.  Lets just hope The Danvers Twins movie fares better then The Marvels at the Box Office!

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in: "My Twisted Twin!"

This marks the 14th appearance of The Danvers Twins on this blog, and if there's any villain that can keep these loving sisters at each other's throats, it has to be the malicious Hate Monger.  Pity the pour soul that gets in the middle of these sparring siblings!

Supergirl & Ms. Marvel and Daredevil

For the 13th appearance of The Danvers Twins, and the conclusion to this two-part tale, it was time to bring in the one hero in town immune to the Medusa effect.  Did you guess correctly?  I am always glad to feature this particular Supergirl costume on a cover.  Of all of he various looks over the years, I liked this one the best.

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in: "My Sister, Medusa!"

This marks the 12th appearance of The Danvers Twins on this blog.  The 13th appearance will be tomorrow, as this is only Part One of a Two-Part Epic.  Can anything - or anyone - help STF's most famous sister act out of this stony predicament? Make sure you come back tomorrow to find out!

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in: "Circe's Serpent!"

For this 11th cover featuring The Danvers Twins, I figured that I would go the animated series route.  This also gave me the opportunity to utilize the always awesome artwork of Bruce Timm.  I was lucky enough to pick up a sketch by him several years back:

Supergirl and Captain Marvel in: "Bring Your Pet To Work Day!"

This marks the 10th adventure of The Danvers Twins on this blog, and I thought that it was high time they brought along a couple of their faithful companions.  I'm curious about the DC's League of Super-Pets movie featuring Krypto, Ace the Bat-Hound and others.  The animation from the quick teaser looked cool and I like the voice cast.  I'm sure it's geared towards kids, but I'm a sucker for animal movies.  I'm guessing we'll get a full trailer at the upcoming DC Fandome event.

Ms. Marvel and Supergirl (Vs. Lex Luthor!)

If you had told me that Jon Cryer - the actor who played Lenny Luthor in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace would decades later play Lex himself (more convincingly than the latest big screen version), I would never had believed it.  That is what has come to pass, though!

This marks the Eighth cover featuring The Danvers Twins:

They faced off with an angry pet in STF #2144...

They battled The Gladiatrix in issue #1872...

They faced a stone centurion in Issue #1808...

They had robot problems in Issue #1414

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in: "Pet... Peeved!"

Supergirl has had many costume changes over the years, and she got particularly inventive during her run in Adventure Comics. I believe at least some of the styles she wore in that era were from fan suggestions.  The outfit she is sporting in the above cover has always been my personal favorite.

This marks the seventh cover featuring The Danvers Twins:

They battled The Gladiatrix in issue #1872...

They faced a stone centurion in Issue #1808...

They had robot problems in Issue #1414

They were at odds with one another  in Issue #763...

They played a trick on the world in Issue #520...

...and they were first revealed to be sisters way back in Issue #152

By the way, later today I will be taping a video interview with Mr. Media himself, Bob Andelman.  In it I will go in depth into the creation of this cover to give an idea of the process.  I'll be sure to share the YouTube link once it becomes available.

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in: The Grip of the Gladiatrix!"

Supergirl had another enjoyable season, and it was great to have genre actors like Teri Hatcher, Kevin Sorbo, Dean Cain and Lynda Carter in on the fun.  While I find some of the romance subplots to be a bit distracting, the action scenes and use of cool DC characters will have me back for the third season.

This marks the sixth cover featuring The Danvers Twins:

They faced a stone centurion in Issue #1808...

They had robot problems in Issue #1414

They were at odds with one another  in Issue #763...

They played a trick on the world in Issue #520...

...and they were first revealed to be sisters way back in Issue #152

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in "A Danvers Dies This Day!"

The Danvers Twins are another pairing that I like to revisit from time to time on the blog - this marks their fifth cover together.

They had robot problems in Issue #1414

They were at odds with one another  in Issue #763...

They played a trick on the world in Issue #520...

...and they were first revealed to be sisters way back in Issue #152

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in "D-Day for the Danvers Duo!"

Supergirl is a mixed bag as a TV series.  The teenage angst and romantic subplots do nothing for me and come off a bit formulaic.  They have a guy who acts and looks like Jimmy Olsen who is actually the son of the Toyman, and a hunky confident heartthrob that is named Jimmy Olsen and sometimes has a camera but is otherwise nothing like the comic character, which makes no sense to me. Still, when I want to give up on the show, they give me some cool Martian Manhunter action, or feature a DCU character like Red Tornado or Reactron to keep my interested.  The effects on the show are respectable for a TV budget, and the Melissa Benoist does a fine job with the title role. I will say I am definitely looking forward to the crossover with The Flash.

The Danvers Twins have shared a few adventures together before on the blog:

The were at odds in Issue #763...

They played a trick on the world in Issue #520...

...and they were first revealed to be sisters way back in Issue #152

Supergirl And Ms. Marvel in "Duel of the Danvers Dames!"

Time for a revisit to my favorite STF siblings.  I am hoping that a future marvel film will feature Carol Danvers in a supporting role, paving her way for inclusion in the next Avengers extravaganza.  Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica and Longmire has expressed interest in joining the marvel cinematic family, and I think that Ms. Marvel would be a perfect role for her.

Supergirl and Captain Marvel

I had established in an earlier cover the familial relation between these two, and I decided to play around with that concept some more.  There will be future covers dealing with their sisterhood as well.

Ms. Marvel's transition into Captain Marvel and her subsequent costume change works for me.  I can see that Marvel wanted to go for a more movie-friendly costume, but it works for the comics as well.  Hopefully we will see her up on the big screen by the time a third Avengers film rolls around.  I have read rumors that Katee Sackhoff is being considered for the role, and I think that would be perfect casting.

Supergirl and Ms. Marvel

These are two characters that fit well together for many reasons. They are both blondes that go by the name Danvers who use use alien powers to battle crime on Earth. They are also both offshoots of a male counterpart and each has a pretty convoluted history for their respective publishers.  I imagine they would have a lot to talk about if they ever met... once they got past the obligatory fight scene, of course!
