Snake Eyes Vs. Bane

Usually Bane is a man of few words, but even he has more to say than snake eyes.  I am sure that the action in this tale would make up for the limited conversation within.

Snake Eyes Vs. Bullseye

It sounds like the Daredevil Disney+ series is being retooled to more closely reflect the Neflix show.  Foggy and Karen are apparently coming back, where the original plans were to have had them killed off.  Now I am reading that Bullseye will return as well, which I was really hoping for.  His story was cut short and I look forward to him having a proper rematch with DD.

Snake Eyes and Sgt. Rock

If there's one soldier outside of their unit that the G.I. Joe team would call in, it has to be Frank Rock.  I'd certainly be interested in a tale of how these army men from different eras would have to work together.

The Silent Partners in: "Breaking the Silence!"

We've now seen The Darkhold on Wanda/Vision after a version of the book was used on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so it appears that Kevin Feige is ready to use concepts and characters from the Marvel TV shows.  That's good to hear, because I think the MCU will do a much better job of presenting heroes like Black Bolt and The Inhumans and villains like Absorbing Man and Graviton than we got in their first live action incarnations.

This is the fifth adventure of The Silent Partners - they last appeared battling Soundwave in STF #2810... the recruited Man-Thing in STF #2250, they were targeted in STF #1650, and made their debut in STF #764...

The Silent Partners in: "Shouted Down by Soundwave!"

I was a little to old to get into Transformers toys when they hit the scene, but Soundwave looked like one of the cooler ones.  I like that he transformed from a cassette tape player that also worked in his robot form.  I can imagine that made for lots of fun by swapping the recordings out..

G.I. Joe and Sgt. Rock

I'm a little surprised that I haven't heard any solid  plans for another G.I. Joe  movie.  There was mention of a G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover flick, which sounds so crazy it just might work, but I don't think that ever got beyond the pitch stage.  They could also go in another direction and present a more grounded reboot.  Whatever is decided, there's still plenty of material to mine in the property.

Catwoman Vs. Snake-Eyes

The G.I. Joe movies are hardly high art, but they both have some fun action sequences.  I'm not sure whether the franchise is done, though.  I had read rumors of a G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover film, which could be cool, but I don't know if anything ever came of that. Maybe everything hinges on The Rock's busy movie filming schedule.

Daredevil and Snake Eyes

I am a big fan of the new Netflix series The Toys That Made Us.  Probably my favorite episode so far focused on the evolution of the G.I Joe action figure line.  It was very cool to see how the property evolved from the larger sized toys of my youth to the smaller line that also made a splash in comics and animation. I can see why the change was made, but for me, nothing will replace my original Joe with the real facial hair and kung-fu grip!

The Silent Partners in: "Monster in the Mix!"

I thought it was time to increase the ranks of the stealthiest team in the STF Universe - and without much discussion, Man-Thing has joined in! I mentioned in the comments to their last appearance that they would be adding a member next time out - did any of you guess correctly?

This is the third adventure of The Silent Partners - they last appeared in STF #1650, and made their debut in STF #764...

Snake Eyes Vs. Deathlok

Has Deathlok ever appeared in animated form?  I remember the Spider-Man 90's cartoon had a ton of guest stars and cameos, so maybe he showed up there.  I am not up on all of the recent Marvel/Disney animated shows. maybe he's appeared on one of those as well.  At any rate, it would be cool to see - I'd love an animated version of his team up with Captain America from the 80's.

The Silent Partners in: "Killing the Quiet!"

This is one of the teams that I have been meaning to bring back..  I like the shared silent motif and they kind of look like they go together, too. Upon completing this cover, I thought of a good fifth member that I will try to include should they reappear on the blog.

The Silent Partners first appeared in STF #764...

Wolverine Vs. Snake Eyes in "Silent Slice!"

The original Wolverine 4-issue mini-series really wowed me back in the day.  I loved seeing Wolverine finally get a spotlight (boy does that seem like a crazy thing to say now, but back then it was very true), and I was genuinely surprised that he was getting married.  It was the first time I really started to appreciate Frank Miller as an artist as well.  The covers were all great and there was an image of Mariko in the first issue that looked to me like a photograph, it was done so well.  Logan has made literally hundreds of appearances since, but none have stayed with me the way that mini-series has.

These two first crossed blades back in STF #595...

Snake Eyes Vs. Deadpool

I have to say that the one upcoming superhero movie that I feel has yet to make a misstep is Deadpool.  Nothing I have seen from the casting to the trailers to the marketing campaign has given me a reason to doubt that I will have a blast watching this film.  The humor and attitude has been spot on, and Deadpool and Colossus look great.  Plus, I love how well the white CG eyes work - he really looks like the comic character come to life.

Nick Fury Joins G.I. Joe

When Tom Zilla, (a Patron of the site in good standing) suggested a Fury/G.I. Joe team-up, I just had to smack my head because I hadn't thought of it before.  It really is a natural pairing. With all of the comics, cartoons and movies that have come along in the last few decades, G.I. Joe has a different meaning to fans of today than when I was a kid.  I remember the large size action figures with the real hair, cool accessories and king-fu grips.  The later miniature versions that came along and became the norm always seemed to pale in comparison to me.

The Silent Partners

The fact that all of these heroes are usually presented with little to no dialogue has lent them an air of mystery and unpredictability that make them appealing to me.  A team made up of these guys may be tough on a writer, but I think could make for some unique stories.

Wolverine Vs. Snake Eyes

I saw a recent unused scene that was featured as an extra on the Blu-Ray release of The Wolverine.  It showed Logan being given a box to open up, and inside is the classic Wolverine costume from the comics.  Now, I am not sure how that would look with someone wearing it, but it definitely looks cool right there.  Sadly, it seems that this was just included as a nod to the fans, and we shouldn't expect to see Logan suiting up any time soon.  I'd love to see them try to give it a shot, though.
