Elongated Man and Stingray

I loved when some of my favorite C-list heroes got the spotlight, so a team up like this that featured two of them would have jumped right off of the racks for me.  Let's hear it for the unsung heroes of our youth!

Sub-Mariner, Stingray & Namorita meet The Teen Titans

Namorita joined the Teen Titans back in STF #1714, and the team previously crossed paths with her and her cousin, The Sub-Mariner and back in STF #2648.  I figured that the third part in this ongoing saga should involve a third sea-faring guest star, and that was an opportunity to use the always cool Stingray.

Agents of the Abyss (The Animated Series!)

The Agents of the Abyss first appeared over a decade ago in STF #631, and I have been meaning to bring them back ever since.  What better way than as their own animated series? I'd happily tune into a show like this over a heaping bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.

Stingray and Dolphin

Between Aquaman and The Little Mermaid, underwater scenes in movies have really gone to the next level.  I was less as impressed with the underwater shots in Wakanda Forever, but there were still some cool moments in there.  I hear the new Avatar movie is easily the best of all in this regard, so I look forward to checking that out as well.

Stingray and Mera in: "Queen's Ransom!"

One Disney+ series that I have heard a title announced for and little else about is Armor Wars.  I remember enjoying the Iron Man related storyline in the comics, so I hope the show is still coming.  Iron Man may not be around anymore, but it sounds like Don Cheadle's War Machine will assume the central role.  Stingray was involved in the comics' version, so this series might be a great place to introduce him into the MCU.  Well see if the show is among the announcements at the upcoming D23 event.

Stingray first met Mera back in STF #856, and shared an adventure with her and Aquaman in STF #1925...

Aqualad and Stingray

Stingray's costume is unapologetically 70's and decidedly different from most underwater heroes, but for some reason it really works for me.  I love the cape/fins design, it seems like it would work well with the currents.  The face concealing mask may be an issue for some, but I've always thought it looked pretty cool.  The right artists really made this outfit sing on the page.

Stingray Vs. Black Manta

I thought that Black Manta was the coolest looking member of  The Legion of Doom when I watched Super Friends as a kid, so it was a thrill to finally see him realized in live action in Aquaman.  My only complaint was that I wanted more!  He promises to have a larger role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and I am looking forward to seeing how he has leveled up for the sequel.

Fantastic Four Vs. Secret Society of Super-Villains (and more!)

There's something about groups of bad guys banding together that always appealed to me.  It would probably be impractical for them, but the infighting while trying to work with one another to defeat the heroes usually made for a cool story.  Maybe it strikes a chord with me because I loved seeing The Legion of Doom on Super Friends, I'm not sure.  Marvel's Acts of Vengeance crossover, in which the villains swapped heroes to gain advantage was also a favorite of mine.

Aquaman & Mera and Stingray

Images of Amber Heard as Mera from Justice League and Aquaman have surfaced, and she looks just about perfect.  Jason Mamoa's Aquaman second costume has bees seen as well, and it's looking pretty cool too, closer to the classic orange and green look.  I can't wait to see them in action, especially Mera using her water-controlling abilities.

Stingray had a solo adventure with Aquaman in STF #1612, and they are both members of The Agents of the Abyss... He also had a solo outing with Mera in STF #856...

Stingray and Aquaman

I am still not sold on Jason Mamoa as Aquaman.  The Justice League footage shown at Comicon was interesting, but Mamoa just doesn't look anything like the character from the comics... not even the hook and beard phase (my least favorite look for Aquaman).  Maybe I just need to see him doing something more heroic instead of simply standing around.  If he rides a giant seahorse in the movie, all will be forgiven!

Mera and Stingray

Stingray's costume just shouldn't work - the colors are all wrong for an undersea hero and the big blank mask doesn't allow for much emotion to be depicted.  That said, I have always thought that it was kind of cool, and in the end that's what really counts, I guess.  Mera has kept her look relatively unchanged over the years, although she seems to have lost the flippers.  Call me crazy, but I kind of liked those, too!

Agents of the Abyss

Aquaman is finally getting the respect he deserves.  For a long time though, he was seen was the weak link in the JLA because of his power set.  It wasn't his fault  though, he just didn't get enough chances to show off his stuff.  hey, it's tough being  a water based hero when your team's headquarters is located on a satellite or the Moon!  It's long past time that we had a super group made up of the greatest undersea heroes.  banded together, they could shine in a way they never could when teamed up with air-breathing partners.
