Stingray and Dolphin

Between Aquaman and The Little Mermaid, underwater scenes in movies have really gone to the next level.  I was less as impressed with the underwater shots in Wakanda Forever, but there were still some cool moments in there.  I hear the new Avatar movie is easily the best of all in this regard, so I look forward to checking that out as well.

I have always loved Stingray’s costume. Don’t care who you team him up with, I’ll love it. Great cover!

Although, I do feel I owe you an apology as, every time I see this Dolphin, I keep confusing her with Bottlenose Ecco from "Agents of the Abyss" (see STF #631).

If the day ever comes that you pit them against the Death-dealer From The Depths, I will log in faster than you can say Jonathan Drew's real name!

"Adewale Akinnoye Agbaje?"
"Chewbacca O'Cool Jay?"
"Nescafe Choco-Latte?"

I agree with you about underwater filming. Oddly, most of the underwater scenes in Aquaman and The Little Mermaid were "dry-for-wet," while about half of those in Wakanda Forever were "wet-for-wet."

I'd like to see Dolphin paired with Flipper.

I'd also like to see a return of the Death-Dealer From The Depths.

(But not at the same time.)

The Death Dealer of the Depths was just name dropped on a cover, he's never actually appeared - so I'm not sure ho he's supposed to return... he only exists in my imagination.

That's exactly why he should.

CGI doing everything now. The youtube has Spock in a scene he was never in from ST Generations movie. This is going to get better since its entertainment money Hollywood wants.

I agree with Mr. Greenwade. If it helps, you could modify an image capture of Frazetta's Death-dealer. Like, say, riding on a giant zombie seahorse!

P.S. @ Anon929: I take it you're half-seriously referring to Chuck Woody Iwuji? The groundhog member of Batch 19 who got edited out of the final print of the film?

;-D

@Cary: Oh, I don't think DDD should ever actually appear, in that sense. Since it's someone Ross made up, he should always be off-panel.

Sort of like the old Val Lewton philosophy; "What you don't see is sometimes scarier than what you do see."

@Bob & Cary: Precisely! :-)

A good idea for a mash up would be Captain Atom, Firestorm, E-Man, Dr Solar, Hazmat, Wildfire, Red Star and Nuke (Squadron Supreme).

Carycomic said...

As in; "The Atom Mashers?"

@Carycomic: The Groan Arranger returns.

You should also include Atoman, Atomic-Man, Atomic Thunderbolt, Nukla, Captain Atom (Atlas Publication).
