Captain Marvel and Captain Action

Thank goodness that when a giant monster emerges on Earth-STF, there will always be a random pair of heroes to combat it.  Let's hope that these two are up to the task.

Mister Miracle and 4 Famous Co-Stars

I used to like the Marvel Team-Up annuals that would have a truly random assemblage of heroes gather together for an adventure.  This is my take on that concept.  I can see The Ringmaster in the middle of his latest plot, unaware that the audience includes a handful that are ready to fight back.

Captain Action Vs. Taskmaster

The Black Widow movie keeps getting its release date pushed back, unfortunately.  I'll have to wait a little longer to finally see one of my favorite Marvel villains in live action.   I think his power set can make for some amazing combat sequences, and hopefully the movie will not disappoint in that regard.

Captain Action and Dial "H" For Hero

Although I never actually saw it for sale in stores, the ads for Captain Action fascinated me.  Here was an action figure that could transform into many different heroes - and what a selection!  Batman, Superman, Captain America, The Phantom, The Lone Ranger, Flash Gordon, The Green Hornet, and many more...  the guy was a real life inter-company crossover before there was even such a thing!  It's crazy that they had the rights to use all those different characters, I can't imagine it happening that way today.

Batman and Captain Action

The Caption Action action figure must have come out just before my time, because I don't remember ever actually seeing one for sale. I was, however, fascinated by the ads I would see in comics that I would read and thinking that it was a very cool concept. I mean, here was a guy who had the skills to impersonate Batman, Superman, The Phantom, Captain America, Aquaman, Sgt. Fury, The Lone Ranger, and more! even back then I thought it was cool that a character could cross so many company lines! With all of the rights issues involved, its probably something that we will never see the likes of again.

There's a great site featuring Captain Action celebrating his old and new adventures, check it out: http://www.captainactionnow.com/
