The Goon and Swamp Thing

The Goon is another property that seemed ready to make the leap to animation some years back, but I haven't heard much about since.  I know a short animation test was created that made the rounds and I remember it looing pretty cool.  Perhaps the comic wasn't high enough profile and the project was discontinued, or perhaps the wheels of production are moving glacially slow and there's still a chance we will see it someday - I'm hoping the latter is the case.

Guardians of the Universe and Godzilla

As we enter the middle part of our three-part epic, we see just why Godzilla was summoned across space - and the Guardians still have plans for him, so make sure you come back tomorrow for the exciting conclusion!

I look forward to seeing how the Guardians are portrayed in the upcoming HBO Max Green Lantern Corps series.  They definitely need a re-design from the look they sported in the GL movie... and we don't need them sitting on those ridiculously tall chairs again, either!

The Hulk and He-Man

In recent interviews, Mark Ruffalo has hinted that The Hulk may be undergoing some personality changes in his next cinematic appearance, Thor: Ragnarok.  While I don't want the "Professor" version of the Hulk, it would be nice if he were at least a little more verbal.  He's only been allowed to utter a few words in his past film appearances, and I think that has made the character somewhat limited.  Let's hear some of his humorous nicknames for his friends and foes as well as throwing out boasts and warnings to his opponents.

Swamp Thing and Conan

One of the cool things about Swamp Thing and Conan is how they inspired the artists that worked on them.  Not only could I count on talents like John Buscema, Steve Bissette or Bernie Wrightson to provide amazing depictions of their heroes in action, I knew that that creepy villains that they faced and the landscapes that they fought upon would be just as beautifully illustrated.

The Thing and The Goon

I have to admit that I haven't yet had a chance to try out The Goon, but I kept getting requests for this team-up so I thought I would give it a try. Reading up on The Goon, it does seem like a series that I would enjoy quite a bit. I really enjoy the artwork by Eric Powell, as I have been a fan of his contributions to Marvel and DC. I also liked the teaser for a possible Goon film, the animation looked great and the characters seem like they stepped right out of the comics. Hopefully, plans for that film will come to fruition, because it looks like a ton of fun.
