Justice League of America and Cloak & Dagger

I still remember fondly the first Cloak and Dagger mini-series.  I had enjoyed the heroes as recurring characters in the Spider-Man titles, but here they really had a chance to shine.  The Rick Leonardi artwork was amazing, and a big part of my enjoyment of those issues.

Zatanna and The Son of Satan

I featured this pairing as a back up story recently in STF #5115, and I felt they were worthy of their own full issue.  There has been rumors that Fallout's  Ella Purnell has been in auditions to join the DCU.  Original Speculation was for Maxima, but what if she's actually in the running to play Zatanna?  I think she'd be a fit for the role.

Blue Beetle and The Hulk / Zatanna and Son of Satan

I never had much disposable income growing up, so comics that featured multiple stories always appealed to me.  This issue would have definitely had me at least flipping through it at the stands.

Blue Beetle last crossed paths with The Hulk in STF 1855...

Zatanna and Medusa

Like most comic fans, I always liked the tuxedo and fishnets look for Zatanna.  As a kid, I did wonder about the practicality of the top hat however.  I just imagined that it would be tough to keep in place while the magical heroine was in action.

The Avengers and Zatanna

It was a pretty controversial storyline when it was revealed that Zatanna erased some memories of her allies in the Justice League.  What would happen if she tried to pull the same stunt on Earth's Mightiest Heroes... and what would cause her to take such a drastic action?  The answers are only 60 cents away!

Zatanna and The Shadow

Zatanna is long overdue for a big screen debut, and I am sure she will be a big part of the cinematic DCU as a team member or even in a solo project.  The Shadow had his 90's film, which has its moments - but I think enough time has passed that I'd like to see him adapted again for live action.

Zatanna and Brother Voodoo

Zatanna has has solo movies and appearances in team movies announced and cancelled a few times in the past decade.  Brother Voodoo was teased in the MCU, but we have yet to see him as well.  Let's hope the respective studios they belong to can finally find a way to bring these magical heroes to live action.

Zatanna and Medusa

Medusa has log been a favorite of mine.  She had a unique power set which presents a great visual and she was not simple a female version of an exisitng male character.  I also liked how she was at first presented as a villain, then a hero and finally a regal ruler - it was a cool progression.  She's not used enough in the comics and her live action treatment was insultingly bad.  Let's hope she sees a higher profile on and off the comics' page in the future.

Zatanna and The Spirit

When Warner Bros. brought on JJ Abrams to revamp the DCU, he seemed to have big plans for Zatanna.  I heard rumors of her leading up a Justice League Dark team or even being featured in a solo movie of her own.  Nothing much came of the Abrams partnership, and now James Gunn and Peter Safran are heading up the DCU.  I haven't seen him mention Zatanna in his plans yet, but I hope she is in the mix.

Zatanna and Agatha Harkness

We are starting to hear some news about the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: House of Harkness with the casting of Aubrey Plaza in a thus far unnamed role.  I have no idea what the plat of the show will be, but I enjoyed Kathryn Hahn quite a bit in Wanda/Vision, so I am looking forward to seeing what trouble she gets into.  Will Wanda herself make an appearance after the events of Multiverse of Madness?  I haven't heard that yet, but she's sure to be a presence story-wise at least, I'm betting.

Zatanna and Brother Voodoo

I'd heard of  a couple of live action features starring Zatanna in the past few years - a solo film and a Justice League Dark movie - but with all of the restructuring going on at Warner Bros/Discovery, I don't believe either is moving forward at the moment.  The solo film was to be straight to streaming, which they are trying to get away from and the JLD movie was part of a production deal with JJ Abrams that hasn't

seemed to have really worked out.  I'm guessing we see Brother Voodoo on the big screen first.

Zatanna and Ghost Rider

Ah, The Orb! What a freaky villain - made even freakier for me when I realized that he wasn't wearing a mask, that's what his head actually looks like!  A pretty fitting foe for Ghost Rider, given his famous flaming skull appearance and their mutual love of motorcycles.  When those two went after each other, I knew I was in for a visual treat.

Tigra and Zatanna

Zatanna is another DC Character that has had a movie announcement with no following information since.  There have been rumors that it will be a solo movie and others that indicate it may be a Justice League Dark story featuring other DC supernatural characters, with Zatanna in the lead.  There have even been actresses teasing that they are up for the role.  Still, with no official announcements, I'm not holding my breath waiting for this one.  It's been eight years since The Rock first started talking about playing Black Adam, after all.

Justice League Dark Vs. Mephisto

Ever since Wanda/Vision, there has been rampant speculation as to when and where (and if) Mephisto will show up in the MCU.  I haven't really been expecting him to show up yet, so I have not been disappointed at his absence thus far.  Now that Agatha Harkness is getting her own spinoff Disney+ series, there's another chance to get him into the mix though.  If he's going to make his debut anywhere, that might be an appropriate place.

Zatanna and Blade

Today marks the Tenth Anniversary of this blog!  When I made my first post on April 4, 2010, I figured I would set a goal for myself to make 500 covers.  Well, here we are a decade later and there's 3,424 covers on the blog with more to come! I truly appreciate all of the enthusiasm from visitors  and support from Patrons - you have helped to keep this daily project going!

We know Marvel has found a great new cinematic Blade in Mahershala Ali, but who will play Zatanna when JJ Abrams gets his Justice League Dark-based DC movies going for Warner Brothers?  I imagine that will be a very desirable role with plenty of actresses interested in portraying the magician.

The Angel Joins The Justice League of America

I'm guessing it will be a good while before we see another Justice League movie, be it a continuation or reboot of what has come before.  Interestingly, we'll be seeing two versions of the Justice Society sooner - on the Stargirl series and the Black Adam movie.  How crazy will it be if the JSA is more well established in the DCEU than the JLA?

Zatanna Vs. The Enchantress

This George Perez-designed costume for Zatanna gets a lot of flack, but I have always kind of liked it.  Sure, the classic fishnets look is great, but I didn't mind this more superhero-ish outfit for Zatanna, especially since it came at a time when she was serving as a regular member of the Justice League. I don't know how practical it would be for battle, but it looked great to my eyes.

The Defenders Vs. The JLA (100 Page Giant!)

I thought for this Anniversary Issue that I would present one big story.  I always liked the old JLA/JSA crossovers where the two teams would meet, then break off into smaller teams for separate adventures, and finally all gather together again for the big conclusion.  I can see a comic featuring these two powerhouse groups going down the same way.

The JLA first met The Defenders in STF #1600...

Zatanna Vs. Loki

There's one thing from the Marvel Phase Four announcements that I haven't seen anyone bring up yet.  When they did the presentation for the Loki series on Disney+, I found the logo they used for the show to be very interesting. Each letter in the villain's name has a vastly different look and font than the others.  This is a strong indication to me that we can expect many different iterations of the character to appear on the series.  Maybe this is where audiences will first begin to explore the multiverse, setting up the next Dr. Strange movie.

The Coven (Vs. the Wicked Witch)

The Scarlet Witch will have her own mini series with the Vision on Disney's upcoming streaming service, which sound pretty cool.  When will we see Clea though?  Although a Doctor Strange sequel has been announced, I haven't heard confirmation that the character will appear.  I hope she will though, she was a big part of the Doctor Strange comics I read growing up.

The Coven first assembled in STF #920...
