The Powerpuff Girls and Professor X

When RJ, a Patron of this Blog, suggested that Professor X meet Professor Utonium, I wasn't sure what angle to take.  Then I remembered the special ingredient in the Girls' creation - Chemical X!  The story kind of writes itself after that.  Thanks, RJ!

Wonder Woman and The Powerpuff Girls

The live-action Powerpuff Girls series went back for retooling after a failed pilot and the departure of one of the main stars - and now the project appears to be completely dead.  Perhaps that's for the best, it seemed to be an odd project from the conception and the script and photo leaks did not encourage me to want to see more.

The Powerpuff Girls and The Hulk

It seems like the ill-conceived live action Powerpuff Girls series is in some trouble.  A pilot was filmed, but rejected and sent to be reworked after backlash from those who had seen it.  Then Chloe Bennett, who was playing Blossom left the production altogether.  Will the CW still continue to pursue this project or take the hints that this just isn't going to work out?

Triplicate Girl, Galaxy Trio and The Powerpuff Girls

I remember thinking when a live action Powerpuff Girls series was announced that I didn't know how that was possible without losing most of what made the cartoon so cool.  It would seem like I was not the only one to have doubts, because apparently feedback on the pilot they filmed was so bad that they have decided to scrap it and start over, albeit with the same cast.  According to script leaks, what was presented had oversexualized versions of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup and test audiences weren't having it. Imagine that!  I still don't have very high hopes for the retooled version, this whole fiasco sounds like a diabolical Mojo Jojo plot.

Powerpuff Girls and Power Girl

Power Girl is one of those characters that I am really surprised has not made the transition to live action yet.  I figured we might see her by now in the CW Supergirl series.  Is it simply because her outfit is considered too revealing in this PC age we live in?  That seems like a simple problem to solve, if that is indeed the case.

Duck Avenger Vs. Captain Carrot

Captain Carrot was another character that I hoped would show up on Batman : The Brave and the Bold that we never got to see.  Batman visited some offbeat worlds on that show so why not Earth-C to encounter The Zoo Crew?  They never showed up on any of DC's animated shorts, either.  Maybe, like Young Justice, one of those cartoons will return one of these days and we will get another chance..

The Powerpuff Girls and Super Best Friends Forever

I was a big fan of the many DC Nation animated shorts from a few years back.  It was great to see features like Doom Patrol, Sword of the Atom, Animal Man and the Metal Men, even if only for a few minutes at a time.  One of the best examples was Super Best Friends Forever, a fun take on Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Girl.  I liked that it showed that heroes come in all shapes and sizes and emphasized their camaraderie. It's too bad that these shorts have been discontinued, I would have like to have seen them continue and grow.

Supergirl and The Powerpuff Girls

I am cautiously optimistic about the upcoming Supergirl TV series.  I hope that it looks to the success of The Flash, and puts an emphasis on the superheroics, rather than too much teenage melodrama.  The Costume looks good (needs yellow in the S shield, though) and I love that Linda Danvers adopted parents will be played by Dean Cain and Helen Slater.  I have to admit that what really has me intrigued is the promise of Red Tornado showing up on the first season!

Batman and The Powerpuff Girls

Now this is a cartoon that I would love to see.  I can imagine each one of the Powerpuff Girls having a different reaction to working alongside the Dark Knight.  You just know that the fight scenes would be a blast to watch as well.  Who wouldn't want to see this quartet taking down the Mojo Jojo/Gorilla Boss team?

Spider-Man and The Powerpuff Girls

The Powerpuff Girls was one of the first shows I checked out when I finally got The Cartoon Network on my cable service.  I was hooked instantly - each episode was action packed with lots of humor and comic book references and the animation was incredibly creative given the simple designs they were using.  I loved the voice work on the show and the roster of villains as well.  Apparently they are poised for a comeback, but from the quick glimpse I saw of it, they seem to be using a different animation technique than before.  Hopefully it will be able to capture some of the magic of the original series.
