Mike Shirley, a Patron of this Blog, requested another cover featuring these two, and I had to agree that it was time to see them together again.  They last shared and adventure in STF #4541, and first appeared side by side in STF #4207. Thanks, Mike!

Darkwing Duck Vs. Dynomutt

 

With the announcement of a live action Jetsons film in the works, perhaps my dream of seeing Dynomutt of the big screen is a bit closer.  I mean, Scooby Doo has had his cinematic day multiple times now, let's get everyone's favorite mechanical mutt into the movies!

Here's a pairing that is worthy of a revisit.  It would only a be matter of time before these web-footed swashbucklers would cross paths if they were owned by the same company.  They aren't, of course, but that's what STF: The Lost Issues is here for!

Doctor Doom faced off against Bugs Bunny in STF 4120, so it was only a matter of time before that envious Daffy had to take his own crack at the Lord of Latveria.  At least he had the good sense to bring along Darkwing Duck to help out.

Teen Titans and Ben 10 (And More!)

 

Watching Saturday morning cartoons was a treasured time for me as a kid.  In addition to all of the colorful characters I saw, it was also a rare moment of solitude for me during the week.  I was the second youngest of seven children, so I was always in the midst of a crowd at home. On some Saturdays, I would be able to get up before everyone else and have an hour or two just to myself.  Alone time was a precious commodity to me in those days!

Darkwing Duck and Captain Carrot & His Amazing Zoo Crew

I watched the pilot episode of Darkwing Duck on Disney+ and got a kick out of it.  I missed the show when it first aired.  It still surprises me that there has never been an animated version of Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew.  It seems like the perfect property to make that transition.  I was hoping they would show up on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, but they were sadly a no-show.

Justice League of America and Darkwing Duck

When I was a kid, I thought it very odd that the JLA's original headquarters was located in a cave.  It seemed very low tech for a team that included such powerful characters (not to mention a billionaire).  I loved The JLA Satellite though, a much more suitable meeting place.  I really hope to see a live action version someday, based on the original Bronze Age design.

Batman and Darkwing Duck

Three episodes in, and I am enjoying Gotham.  To my surprise, Oswald Cobblepot is the most interesting character so far.  The actors playing Gordon, Bullock, Alfred and Bruce all play their parts well, and the production values are very good for a television series.  Some of the character ages seem to be off and Jada Pinkett chews the scenery a bit much, but those aren't huge drawbacks.  I'll be sticking with the show.

Fowl Force

As a lover of crossovers, I am a huge fan of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.  The story and blending of animation with live action were cool, but what really got me was seeing Disney and Warner Brothers characters sharing the screen.  My very favorite scene was the piano duet between Daffy Duck and Donald Duck.  It was a blast seeing those two go up against each other, and the animators seemed to really have fun with that sequence.  Those two classic ducks have inspired many more over the years, and it wasn't hard to come up with a suitable line up for this team.
