When Richard Graef suggested having this pair of heroic trios share an adventure together, I thought that it would be the perfect way for the WW/Cap romance to celebrate the 4th of July (in their 30th appearance on the blog). Thanks, Richard! I hope all of the American visitors to this blog are having a nice holiday with family and friends today!

Wonder Woman and Captain America (Vs. The Enchantress!)
For Part Two of this Five-Part Epic, we see that The Enchantress is now targeting STF's longest running romance - Wonder Woman and Captain America on this their 27th appearance as a couple on the blog. Uh oh, it looks like there's a disturbing pattern forming here. Let's see if it holds in Part Three, coming tomorrow!

Wonder Woman and Captain America in: "The Super-Simian Serum!"
This marks the 26th appearance of The WW/Cap team on this blog, and it looks like someone's trying to monkey around with their marriage. As cool as it is that someone had the ability to change Cap into and Ape, I'm even more impressed that they were able to locate a uniform that fit him in that form. Those oversized toed boots can't be easy to find!

The Wonder Woman & Captain America Action Hour!
This marks the 25th appearance of the WW/Cap romance... I figured it was time they get their own cartoon. Speaking of which, I think that Warner Bros and HBO Max should at long last give us Wonder Woman: The Animated series. She's certainly a strong enough character to headline a show of her own. With new animated adventures of Batman and Superman on the way, there's no reason to keep ignoring the final member of DC's Trinity.

Wonder Woman and Captain America in: "A Mindwarp From a Monkey!"
This marks the 24th appearance of the WW/Cap team...
Well, I saw Wonder Woman 1984,
SPOILERS FOLLOW
and like most, I was let down after the first movie was done so well. I've read reports that Patty Jenkins got rid of her co-writer from the first movie as well as replaced the effects and stunts crews, and it showed. The opening Amazon scene was fun and promising, but didn't really connect to the rest of the film at all. The mall fight was not well done, the effects and acting looked like something from an 80's kid's movie, not something just set in the 80's. Still, I should have savored it, since it was the last action scene or scene with WW in costume that there would be for another hour and 10 minutes! The movie definitely needed better editing, scenes went on too long and the sparse action was spaced too far apart. Cheetah was wasted, her character didn't need to be there for the plot and we have seen the same origin beats before for Riddler and Electro (not that they worked in those movies either). By the time (over 2 hours in) that she showed up in Cheetah form (we don't get to see the transformation) It feels like a movie obligation and the effects were dark, murky, and unimpressive. Diana's golden armor was built up to be amazing and then destroyed and discarded in moments, I guess that was all just to set up the mid credits cameo. There were parts I liked. All the acting was fine, I can't blame the performers for the script they were given. Yes, the learning to fly scene was lifted from Man of Steel, but I still enjoyed it. The invisible jet visuals were cool, although the scene as a whole was silly considering Steve could somehow fly a modern jet with his WWI skills and Diana made it invisible by rubbing her hands together like Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid. Finally, why didn't Steve just reappear (Like the wall and other things) instead of hijacking some innocent dude's body and life? Neither Steve nor Diana seemed overly concerned with this violation, and indeed got intimate using the unwitting "handsome man's" (he didn't even get a name) body. Diana only undid the wish because she was losing her powers, not out of concern for her and Steve's victim. Highly unethical to say the least and I can't believe that plot point made it into the movie. As for the wishes, did everyone on Earth really make selfish wishes? Not one person wished for world peace or something? All that said, I still liked it better than Birds of Prey!

Captain America and Wonder Woman in: "Day of the Duplicates!"
While Batman was fighting disfigured gangsters and Spider-Man had his hands full with animal-related adversaries, The Flash built up an impressive roster of science-based villains. The mirror master was one of my favorites. I liked how he would use his amazing mirror technology in a different way for each appearance.
This marks the 23rd appearance of the WW/Cap romance...

Justice Society of America and Captain America in: "Zapped... By Zeus!"
There are a lot of question marks in my mind regarding the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984. Reports are that is is not to be considered a sequel, but simply another adventure like the James Bond franchise, although I'm not sure exactly what the distinction is there, Then there's the question of how Steve Trevor is still around decades after his apparent death. There have also been rumors regarding rewrites and reshoots to either alter the role of Kristin Wiig's Cheetah or to give the DCEU a soft reboot. Sounds a bit all over the place, hopefully the final product will be a cohesive hit.
Cap first met the JSA in STF #290, and this marks the 22nd appearance of the WW/Cap romance on the blog...

Wonder Woman and Captain America in: "Second Chance Heroes!"
This marks the 20th appearance of the Wonder Woman/Captain America romance on this blog...
I remember when Cap first used the Nomad identity. It was a quick story arc and an interesting departure. I wasn't as big of a fan of when Wonder Woman dropped her heroic identity for a spell. I didn't understand the appeal of getting rid of her powers and costume in favor of a boring white outfit and standard fisticuffs. I did really like the story arc that followed, where Diana became Wonder Woman again through a set of trials, while the Justice Leaguers observed.

Captain America and Wonder Woman (The Movie!)
I made this cover just before it was announced that Kristin Wiig would be playing The Cheetah in in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 - here you can see my choice for the role. I am very curious to see what Wiig, primarily known for her comedy chops, will do with the role. Now that we have seen set photos featuring what appears to be a very alive and un-aged Steve Trevor, I'm wondering what the heck is up with that situation as well.
This marks the 19th appearance of the WW/Captain America romance on the blog...

Wonder Woman and Captain America in: "'Til Treason Do We Part!"
This marks the 18th appearance of the WW/Cap team...
I was glad to hear that The Cheetah has been officially confirmed as a villain for the Wonder Woman sequel. The casting of Kristin Wiig has me scratching my head though. There's no doubt that Wiig is a gifted actress, but she is most known for her comedy chops. I've seen her in a few serious roles, but nothing that makes me believe that she would be well suited to play Barbara Minerva. Perhaps she will be portraying the Priscilla Rich version, though. I'll hope for the best, maybe she will surprise audiences the way Michael Keaton did in Batman.

Captain America and Wonder Woman (The TV Movie Event!)
This marks the 17th appearance of the WW/Cap team, it's about time they got some prime time exposure! Like many, I fell in love with Lynda Carter's portrayal of the Amazing Amazon as a child, and took her program very seriously. Now as I watch the reruns as an adult, I can see the cheap budget and camp, but Carters' earnest performance in the title role still wins me over.

Wonder Woman and Captain America in: "Anniversary With Ares!"
I was glad to see Themyscira and the Amazons appear in the Justice League trailer. The Paradise Island scenes were some of my favorite from Wonder Woman and it's cool that we will not have to wait for the sequel to see a little more of that world.
This marks the sweet sixteenth appearance of the WW/Cap team...

Captain America and Wonder Woman in " Punishment Before Proposal!"
I am glad that like Captain America's film debut, Wonder Woman's first solo outing will be a period piece. It adds to the mythic feel of the characters while also paying homage to their comic book history. Plus, anything to help set a film apart from the many other comic book blockbusters out there is a good thing.
This marks my 15th entry into the romance of WW/Cap...

Wonder Woman Marries Captain America
I was thinking - I've done over a dozen covers so far chronicling the romance of Wonder Woman and Captain America - but I never actually showed their wedding day. Nothing to do about that situation except to rectify it, so here you go! Now this would truly be the marriage of the century.

Captain America and Wonder Woman in "War-Torn!"
I really loved artist Aaron Lopresti's take on Wonder Woman. He made her strong and beautiful without being overly sexualized. His version of the classic costume is my probably my favorite look that she's had so far. Lopresti is currently working on Metamorpho in Legends of Tomorrow, and I think that it's the best that character has looked in years, a modern spin on Ramona Fradon's original design.
Looks like bad luck for the WW/Cap romance... after all, it is their 13th cover together...

Wonder Woman and Captain America in "Standoff at the Statue!"
Cap and Wonder Woman have finally recovered from the latest trial in their continuing romance on the blog, only to be attacked when they least expected it...
I can't wait to see Cap's latest cinematic outing next week, and with the early word of mouth that I have heard, it's gonna be a good one. Principal photography on Wonder Woman must be wrapping up soon, so hopefully a teaser will follow soon after. Despite mixed reaction to Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman received mostly unanimous praise, so I am looking forward to her solo outing.

Wonder Woman and Captain America in "Separated by the Psycho-Pirate!"
Continuing the latest WW/Cap tale, now the events of the last issue start to make a little more sense.
I have been a big fan of the Psycho Pirate ever since I was introduced to the character as a member of the Secret Society of Super-Villains in my favorite JLA/JSA crossover. I even wound up making him the central villain of a JLA comic that I wrote and drew for some family members in the early 90's. I loved that he was one of the few characters to remember the pre-Crisis multiverse and had fun playing off of that fact.
