7 Soldiers of Victory and The Defenders

Uh oh! Mr. Universe is back for his 4th appearance and he looks more powerful than ever!  Let's hope the combined might of these two super-teams is enough to put him down for good!

Galactus Vs. The Seven Soldiers of Victory

Yeah, I don't know how this group is expected to be able to take on the World Devourer either.  It would be fun to watch them try, though!  Let's hope that one of them has an ace up their sleeve.

Star-Spangled Kid & Stripesy and Spider-Man

Peter Parker and Sylvester Pemberton were both teen heroes that were able to headline their own series, something uncommon when they were each introduced.  That, and their red & blue outfits, make this team-up a natural and long overdue.  Adding Stripesy into the mix only improves things - the world needs more red-headed superhero action.

Miss America and The Star-Spangled Kid

Kicking it old school today with a pair of Patriotic Heroes.  The main reason I wanted to use this SSK image was the cool design of that retro robot.  That henchman might want to tweeze his eyebrows though.

Seven Soldiers of Victory and The Vision

The original Vision from Timely Comics always seemed really cool to me, and I have been meaning to include him for a while.  When I was a kid, I didn't realize that the Avenger's resident Sythezoid had a Golden Age counterpart.  They are quite different characters, but that unique cape design is unmistakable.

Captain America and The Seven Soldiers of Victory

I'm looking forward to the new season of Stargirl.  The trailer teased Jade, Jakeem Thunder & T-Bolt and the Shade, I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes.  I hope that we will learn more about the exploits of the original Seven Soldiers of Victory, and that Sir Justin will suit up for some present day action.

Seven Soldiers of Victory Vs. The Invaders in: "Victory Slap!"

This year may be a bit tougher than most to find things to be thankful for, but I am still counting my blessings.  I am glad I will get to see at least a few of my relatives today for the holiday.  I am also of course thankful to all who take the time to stop and visit this blog on a regular basis so that I can share my love of comic artists and characters with them.  Happy Thanksgiving!

These two teams first crossed paths in STF #2824...

7 Soldiers of Victory and Doctor Strange

It will be interesting to see in the Seven Soldiers of Victory will get a mention in the upcoming Stargirl series.  After all, that was Stripesy's team - he was never really a member of the Justice Society along with The Star Spangled Kid, if memory serves.  It may be a bit of a deep dive, but I've seen more obscure references on the CW.

7 Soldiers of Victory and The Invaders

The JLA/JSA crossovers that featured the heroes of two Earths coming together, often with a third Earth in the mix, introduced me into the concept of the multiverse.  I loved the idea, but DC must have thought it too complicated after a while, for it  lead to reboots in an attempt to streamline everything (which, of course, only made things more complicated).  These days, the multiverse is back, and is widely understood thanks to shows like Fringe and The Flash, plus movies like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and news of the Upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. I'm glad the rest of the world has finally caught up to us comic fans!

Northstar Joins Infinity, Inc.

With the Justice Society ready to  make their return to comics and DC continuity, I am hoping that Infinity Inc. can find some love as well.  There are too many good characters on that team to let them flounder about in limbo.  Maybe a title that deals with both teams and their familial relations could be cool.

7 Soldiers of Victory and The Human Torch

When people talk about accessibility of comics, sometimes I don't think they give kids enough credt for being able to figure things out.  One of the very first comic stories I read as a kid - and one that got me hooked was Justice League of America #100-102, which featured the JLA, JSA and Seven Soldiers of Victory in one big adventure.  Even Metamorpho came along for the ride!  I wasn't put off by so many characters I hadn't seen before - indeed, I was dazzled by them and wanted to find out more.

The Star-Spangled Kid and Captain America

It's fitting that this cover falls on Memorial Day Weekend, when we take the time out to remember the brave men and women who fight for freedom around the world.  I appreciate their service and my thanks goes out to any member of the military, past or present, who may be reading this blog - you are the true superheroes!

The Thing and The Seven Soldiers of Victory

I first discovered the Seven Soldiers of Victory with their Silver Age reintroduction in the Pages of Justice League of America. I fondly remember that storyline because it also featured the JSA who and Metamorpho helping the JLA to find the time-lost SSOV. I had never seen so many characters together in one story, it really blew my young mind. As with the JSA, I would love to see some new stories featuring tales of the Seven Soldiers of Victory while they were still in their prime. The last time I saw them in action was the pages of All-Star Squadron, and that was decades ago. Grant Morrison recently revamped the Seven Soldiers concept, and that had some nice moments - but give me the original crew any day!
