Wolverine and OMAC

Logan could also be described as a one man army corps, so this is a pairing that I think could work well.  Now that I see them side by side, it makes me wonder - did Jack Kirby ever draw Wolverine for Marvel?  I can't think of a time he did, let me know if I am forgetting an issue.

OMAC and Sgt. Fury

This is an example of a cover where I had an image that I wanted to use, but which needed to be cleaned up first.  sometimes I can't get a nice clean digital image and elements of the page behind it bleed through, so I have to get to work.  Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:

OMAC and The X-Men in: "Yesterday Begins Tomorrow!"

Scott Summers is correct, OMAC is indeed back - he first sought the help of the X-Men back in STF #3089.  It looks like it is time for them to finish the job that they started in that tale. All depicted by Jack "King" Kirby, naturally!

Silver Surfer and OMAC

The Silver Surfer has had a rocky relationship with the Death Star on this blog.  He first encountered it during his brief marriage to Starfire in STF #397, and then he later returned to investigate it with Doctor Who in STF #3761.  If his choice of partner here is any indication, this time he may just shut the place down for good!

OMAC and The X-Men

One of the great things about Batman: The Brave and the Bold was that it included so many characters from every corner of the DC Universe, many that had never been seen in other media before.  OMAC was one such case, and his appearance was cool and fun.  I'd love to see an animated DC Kirbyverse series, with rotating features like OMAC, Kamandi, Mister Miracle and more.

Doc Savage and OMAC

There have been some mention about Doc Savage headed to the big screen over the years, but nothing ever really seems to pick up any steam.  I remember Arnold Schwarzenegger being mentioned for the role years ago, and more recently The Rock has been suggested to take it on.  Alas, Ron Ely remains the only live action Doc Savage that I know of.  If handled properly, it could be a great cross between superhero movies and Indiana Jones-style cliffhangers.

OMAC and The Falcon

OMAC is another character that I am hoping will make an appearance on DC's Legends of Tomorrow.  For a time travelling show, they haven't spent much time going to the future and I would like to see more of that.  Maybe they can bring the already established Jonah Hex with them so they can do a riff on his futuristic Hex series.

Deathlok and OMAC

OMAC is another character that is perfect for an appearance on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, given the time-travel aspect of the show.  Perhaps an adventure in the future with Brother Eye  will allow them to actually spend more than a minute or two in  their costumes as well!  I'd hope they would do Buddy Blank and his alter ego justice though - I'm still shaking my head over the lackluster interpretation of Deathlok on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Hercules and OMAC

Thor: Ragnarok is getting great buzz and looks like it will be the most crowd pleasing Thor movie yet.  That's good new because Thor has a nice deep villains roster and with Chris Hemsworth still very much in shape, there's no reason the series should conclude at three.  I would definitely like Hercules to be introduced in the next installment, should there be one.  I always loved the interplay and rivalry between him and the God of Thunder.

OMAC Vs. Devil Dinosaur

Jack Kirby was well known for his designs of high-tech machines, weapons and vehicles, and for good reason.  He also could make low-tech action just as exciting though as the nature scenes from comics like Devil Dinosaur illustrate.  And in titles like Black Panther and Kamandi, he got to do both!

Task Force T

I pity the fool who wouldn't want to read the adventures of this group!  Personally I would be sold by the inclusion of Chaselon alone. Like being a sentient diamond with robotic limbs and a Green Lantern ring wasn't enough, he's got a mohawk to put his cool factor over the top!  No more jibba jabba! Here's my sixty cents!

OMAC and The Fantastic Four

I'm a little surprised at how little we have actually seen of the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.  I know that principal filming wrapped a while ago and they are in the process of creating the special effects, but I figured we would has seen some kind of footage by now.  Perhaps they are waiting until everything is perfect before they present it and silence the naysayers.  Or maybe it's the turkey many hardcore fans fear it will be and they will quietly release it without previews from the critics.  I must admit that I haven't read much that gives me a lot of hope for the film, but I still have to see a trailer or teaser before I can make a truly informed judgment.

The Thing and OMAC

Hmmm, maybe I should have changed this to Charlie Sheen's mansion, given recent events! I'm not sure what OMAC's status is in the current DCU, now that all the dust seems to have settled from the Infinite Crisis event from a few years back. Like most of Kirby's DC creations, he is experiencing some down time these days. I can't imagine it will be too long before he and the rest make their return, though.

Batman and OMAC

This is another early one, I was still getting the gist of it.

I never read the original OMAC series, but I remember being very impressed with a guest appearance that he made in DC Comics Presents. I later picked up his B&W mini-series by John Byrne, but that did not make much of an impression on me. DC tried to give OMAC a big push a couple of years back, but they changed the concept a bit too much for my tastes.

It wasn't until I saw him appear on a recent episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold (A show I hope all fans of this site watch regularly!) that I really saw his potential. The writers on that show really know how to distill a character down to their most appealing qualities. They did the same with another of Kirby's creations, Kamandi, in the episode he appeared in - I would be into an animated show featuring either of these properties based on their treatment on the show.
