Catwoman Vs. Mockingbird in: "Bobbi-Pinned!"

Aside from the natural cat/bird conflict, I think there would definitely be friction between these two.  as a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, Bobbi Morse knows how to work with others and abide by a set of mission parameters - quite a contrast from Selina Kyle, a solo act who has no problem breaking the rules.

These two first crossed paths in STF #3652...

Jonah Hex and The West Coast Avengers

We've seen stories where Hex moves ahead in time, but I like it when heroes from the future come back to visit him as well.  I remember really liking the two part story in Justice League of America #198-199, where the leaguers met a bunch of DC's Western heroes.  I would be cool to see the Avengers do the same.

Robin and Mockingbird

Bobbi Morse had such success recruiting Nightwing into  S.H.I.E. L.D. in STF #4088, that it looks like she decided to also bring in the original Dick Grayson as a well! It's probably for the best, he's been looking for a new purpose after finding himself unstuck in the Multiverse as a result of battling Kang in STF #1744.

Nightwing and Mockingbird

Out of all of DC's heroes, I think Nightwing would make a great recruit for S.H.I.E.L.D.  He's got the skills that Batman taught him, and is comfortable working within a team as well.  He's even worked in law enforcement before, so this might be a natural step.

Mockingbird and Catwoman

I liked the twist at the end of the Disney+ Hawkeye series (Minor SPOILER follows)...

...that Clint Barton's wife actually worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. as Mockingbird at some point in the past.  Of course, now I want to see Linda Cardinelli as Bobbi Morse in some flashback scenes.  I don't know if Hawkeye is coming back for another season, but hopefully Marvel can find some way to show her in her super-heroic action days.

Huntress and Mockingbird

Continued from yesterday's cover, we see that Clint Barton's time in The House of Mystery has perhaps had some lasting effects... Regular visitors to this blog will know that Hawkeye and Huntress are siblings on Earth-STF, and I figured that is was high time that Helena shared an adventure with her sister-in-law.  I'd like for Bobbi Morse to show up in the Disney+ Hawkeye series, but I think a version of the character appearing on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may rule that out, since apparently Kevin Feige was not a fan of that series.

Green Lantern and The West Coast Avengers

When The West Coast Avengers first appeared, I thought that it was a great idea.  There were too many members of The Avengers at that time to feature on a single team, so I loves the idea of a second group operating on the other side of the country.  I especially liked the idea of Hawkeye as team leader - he had always claimed that he could do a better job than Cap, so I was glad to see him finally get his chance.  Of course, these days, Marvel has completely overdone the concept, with new Avenger spin-off teams popping up on a regular basis.  It once was a big deal to be granted Avengers membership, now it's hard to think of many Marvel heroes who aren't a part of the team.

Green Arrow & Black Canary and Hawkeye & Mockingbird

Now that *** SPOILER for Arrow fans who aren't caught up **** the death that has been teased all of the current season was revealed to be Laurel Lance, the (second) Black Canary, the series could go a few ways.  Laurel whispered something to Ollie before she was declared dead, so the whole thing could be a fake by the two of them, which would anger fans I think.  Felicity could be come the new Black Canary, which would anger fans even more. Maybe they will just give the character a rest.  What I hope will happen, though, is that by next season Caity Lotz will return from her time on DC's Legends of Tomorrow as the White Canary and reclaim her role as the Original Black Canary.  I always prefered her in the role anyway.

Although this is the first appearance of all of these heroes together, Black Canary and Mockingbird have crossed paths before on the blog.  Green Arrow and Hawkeye have met a few times - They first met in one of my very earliest STF covers... then they were at odds with a few fellow Avengers along for the tale... Next up they faced off against The Hulk and Solomon Grundy... and the last time we saw them it was time to hone their skills...

Superman Vs. Hawkeye and Mockingbird

It's too bad that Hawkeye and Mockingbird are split between Marvel's movie and TV divisions, because I always liked them as a couple and it would be cool to see them in live action together.  Of course, Hawkeye is happily married with kids in the films and Mockingbird is involved with a fellow agent on TV, so it looks like any romantic involvement between them has already been discarded.

Mockingbird and The Secret Six

When Tony Isabella, comic legend and creator of Black Lightning among others, suggested this team-up, I had to smack my head because I had never thought of it!  Every incarnation of the Secret Six took orders from a mysterious figure known only as Mockingbird after all... It's a natural! I have been enjoying seeing Mockingbird in live action on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and with word of a spin-off, it looks like we will be seeing even more of her.  Perhaps if the Suicide Squad film is a big hit, we will see the Secret Six hit the silver screen as well one of these days.

Black Canary and Mockingbird

These two characters are so close to one another, it's almost like an Earth One-Earth Two situation.  They've got similar tastes in hairstyles, fighting disciplines, outfits and men.  I'm sure they would have plenty to talk about while kicking butt and taking names.

Red Tornado Vs. The West Coast Avengers

When West Coast Avengers was originally published, I liked it better than the mainstream Avengers title, mainly due to the roster of characters that it featured.  It allowed Hawkeye a chance to finally shine as a leader, which I liked, and also gave heroes like Tigra and Mockingbird some nice development.  I remember seeing Red Tornado as a member of Primal Force (a team coming out of DC's Zero Hour event) and hoping he would get more attention than he did as a JLA member, but he was an emotionless shell for most of the series.  Fortunately, Red Tornado got a nice storyline when he joned the JLA in the Brad Meltzer run of Justice League of America.  I'm still waiting to see where he shows up in DC newly revamped line.

Batman and The West Coast Avengers

I was a big fan of the first West Coast Avengers mini-series and the ongoing series that followed it.  The Avengers had included a lot of cool members over the years and the idea of a second team operating concurrently would allow more characters to be showcased.  Little did I realize what a trend that would start!  Now not only are certain characters diluted by multiple versions of them running around, entire teams have their own variants.  There are multiple versions of the Avengers, X-Men and the Justice League operating simultaneously and it's getting pretty crowded out there.  It used to be an honor to join the Avengers or the JLA... now it makes a character more unique if they've never been a member!

Batman and Hawkeye

Hawkeye has always been a great character, but he has had a rough go of it for the past several years. Killed off, brought back to life but in another identity, then watching a villain take over his persona... It's been a frustrating time to be a Hawkeye fan. This looks to be changing as he is about to begin a new self titled series, finally back in costume and alongside Mockingbird. I am not that familiar with the artist or writer, but I do like the character, so I will give it a try and hope for the best.

I heard a rumor that actor Jeremy Renner may be playing the role of Hawkeye in the upcoming Avengers film. I don't know how true that is, but after seeing him in The Hurt Locker, I think it is a pretty solid choice for the role.
