Iron Man and Dynamo

I recently watched a couple of episodes of Iron Man from the Marvel Super-Heroes cartoons that first ran in 1966, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I know the animation was considered crude even for back then, but whatever it lacks is made up by the fact that the artwork from the actual comics was used to bring it to life.  The breakneck pacing of those early comic tales really made them perfect for this Saturday morning format.

Soviet Super-Soldiers and Uncle Sam

Common enemies can make for odd alliances sometimes, and that's what this tale would be about.  I'd like to think that all of our heroes could find some common ground and mutual respect for each other by the story's end.

Soviet Super Soldiers and Red Star

I've read adventures featuring members of the Soviet Super Soldiers as guest stars in various comics, but I don't think I've read too many stories with them all together as a team.  I lost track of Red Star after his New Titans appearances.  So, I'm not sure what the status is of any of these characters today, but back in the 80's, this would have been a fun crossover for me to see.

Crimson Avenger and Iron Man

The Crimson Avenger has been featured in photo form on a couple episodes of Stargirl.  Hopefully that means eventually we'll get a flashback featuring him.  I got a real kick out of seeing Johnny Thunder and the Ted Grant Wildcat a few weeks back, and I hope the show keeps including scenes of the old school heroes like that one.

Batman and Four Famous Co-Stars! (Colossus, Superman: Red Son, Crimson Dynamo & Red Star)

I've been wanting to use the B&B #100 cover layout with 4 guest stars for a long time but I could never come up with the right concept. I was trying to think of a Batman/Colossus concept when I thought it might be fun to throw in some more Russia based characters.

Red Star was originally called Starfire, but he relinquished that name to the more popular Teen Titan.

Crimson Dynamo was always my favorite of Iron Man's armored adversaries/allies - I thought his armor had a great formidable tank quality to it.

Superman: Red Son is from the excellent Elseworlds story of the same name. Easily one of Mark Millar's best works, I highly recommend it.

Colossus is, of course, the very popular X-Men member. I used an image by his co-creator, Dave Cockrum.
