Adam Strange Joins Star Wars

Continued from yesterday's cover, we see Adam has found Tatooine's most famous resident along with his friends.  Jabba's not going to know what hit him!  I quite liked this Adam Strange costume redesign by Pasquale Ferry.  It looks a bit more modern while still maintaining the aesthetic of his classic uniform.

The Spectre and Guardians of the Galaxy

I was saddened to hear that Denny O'Neil passed away this week.  Most associate him with his groundbreaking work on Batman and Green Lantern/Green Arrow, but he wrote for many characters from Marvel and DC (even one crazy issue of the Spectre's first series).  His contributions were many, such as the classic Superman Vs. Muhammad Ali and a long list of characters that he created, including Air Wave, Bronze Tiger, Madame Web, Ra's Al Ghul and Talia, Killraven, Richard Dragon, John Stewart, Lady Deathstrike, Azrael, Leslie Thompkins and on an on.  He will be missed but never forgotten.

Adam Strange and Flash Gordon

This is a pairing that I have been meaning to get to for a while. They seem like they would naturally cross paths sooner or later,   They would certainly have plenty in common, both being Earth men that became champions of a faraway world. Truly it would be an amazing sci-fi adventure!

Adam Strange and Star-Lord (Part Two)

Because I keep showing it to people, I have watched Guardians of the Galaxy five times now, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. I am especially impressed by Chris Pratt's performance as Peter Quill.  He created a character that is at once goofy, heroic, charming and sympathetic.  I look at the "dance off" scene, and it's hard to think of another actor that could have pulled that moment off so well. In a movie filled with CGI characters and sci-fi concepts, he still found a way to be the most interesting character to me.

The Fantastic Four and The Incredibles

Given the power sets and the family aspect, it's clear to see that The Fantastic Four was a major inspiration for The Incredibles, so it would definitely be fun to see the two teams meet. Pixar seems to be open to sequels with Toy Story, Monsters inc., Cars and Finding Nemo receiving follow up installments, so I hope they finally give The Incredibles another cinematic outing.  I would love to see what director Brad Bird has in mind for the next chapter in their story.  The FF are currently in line for a cinematic reboot, but too little has been released yet for me to determine whether they will be improving on the previous franchise or straying further from the original concept.
