Justice League of America and Gargoyle

There has been lots of discussion about what to do with the next Avengers movie now that Jonathan Majors' Kang is out of the picture.  They could recast and call it a variant, but Marvel seems to want to move on.  Many have said to use Doctor Doom, but he should be with the Fantastic Four.  I'd love to see Nightmare finally make a live action appearance, he certainly has enough power to become a franchise wide threat.  Plus, Ironheart, which was to debut Mephisto, has been shelved indefinitely, so there's an opening for a mystical adversary.

Sandman, Little Nemo and Nightmare

Word is still out on whether the Netflix Sandman series will come back for another season.  Apparently the  ratings were okay, but the high cost of the series is a still a factor.  I thought it was pretty well done,  though some episodes were more to my liking than others.  I did appreciate how closely they stuck to the comic stories.  Dream of a Thousand Cats was one of my favorite Sandman tales, and I really enjoyed how that was adapted.

Cloak and Dagger and Sandman

In Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, it was explained that dreams were a peek into variant versions of yourself.   Since we are still in what Marvel is calling The Multiverse Saga, that certainly opens up the possibility of Nightmare finally making his MCU debut.  Perhaps in a third installment of Doctor Strange, or maybe as the villain in a Midnight Sons type of movie featuring Blade, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Elsa Bloodstone and so on.

The Spectre and Doctor Strange Vs. Nightmare!

Of all of Marvel's second phase movie plans, what has me the most intrigued is Doctor Strange. Some vague plot points and characters have been released and so far it sounds like they are on the right track.  Still, what I really need to hear is who is going to star as Strange and who will direct.  It's one of the tougher properties to pull off and  hopefully Marvel will make the right decisions.
