Black Panther and The Flash

I always like team ups in which the heroes would swap villains.  I thought it was time to present another one of those here.  Something tells me that Kraven and The Trickster have bitten off a bit more than they can chew here, however!

Detective Chimp & Man-Bat meet Devil Dinosaur

These three characters have all had entertaining animated appearances, now it's time to see them in live action.  Man-Bat is long overdue to show up in a Batman movie and Detective Chimp is certainly on the short list if a Justice League Dark movie ever gets past the talking stages.  I'm surprised that the Savage Land has not been introduced into the MCU - but once it does, that would be a great place for DD to make his debut.

Oracle and The Watcher

Hey, if you want to be sure that you have all of the most current intel to pull off a successful mission, it helps to have an inside man that knows it all.  I think that watching the behind the scenes machinations between these two against the backdrop of a crisis-style event could make for an interesting tale.

Batman and Monkeyman & O'Brien

These guys never hit the big time like Batman did, but I always got a kick out of their stories.  Creator Art Adams put whatever he loved to draw into those tales - apes, beautiful women, freaky aliens, exotic locales and of course, monsters.  Each issue they appeared in was definitely a feast for the eyes.

Man-Bat Vs. The Vulture

The Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser has dropped, and in it we see subtle and not-so-subtle teases for Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman and The Lizard.  That still leaves one more space on the roster to complete a full Sinister Six team.  Will Michael Keaton's Vulture return?  We know he will show up in Morbius, but could he appear here as well?  I think that Mysterio is more likely - if anyone could fake his death, it's him, and something or someone definitely seems to be influencing Doctor Strange.  Hopefully some more light will be shed when a full trailer is released.

Steel Vs. Magneto

I've been quite enjoying Superman and Lois on the CW, it's a step above their usual superhero fare.  One of the more pleasant surprises has been the inclusion of John Henry Irons.  I've been waiting for years for someone besides Shaquille O'Neal to bring the character to life, and this interpretation does not disappoint.  While he does operate in a suit of armor, he still isn't fully Steel yet on the show.  Hopefully future episodes will show that journey.

Blue Beetle Vs. Dark Phoenix

Blue & Gold, a proposed buddy superhero movie starring Blue Beetle and Booster Gold was one of the many potential DC movies that was mentioned once and then never again.  Marvel has buddy show Falcon and the Winter Soldier as well as a She-Hulk show with comedic elements coming up, so maybe the suits at Warner Brothers should reconsider the concept for an HBO Max ongoing series instead. Just as long as the heroes are presented as capable - Ted and Booster can still be funny while still being effective heroes.

Spider-Woman and The Huntress

Spider-Woman has undergone a few costume changes recently, probably to give her a more movie-friendly appearance once she makes the leap to the big screen.  Personally, I prefer her original look.  It has nods to Spider-man's outfit while still having its own unique feel and looks even better when topped of by her gorgeous mane of hair.  I'm not holding my breath waiting to see it show up in the movies, though.

These two previously met in STF #656...

Catwoman and Power Man & Iron Fist (Part Two)

Continued from yesterday's cover, we se nothing is ever easy where The Serpent Crown is concerned...

So, it looks like DC is really about to go through with a marriage between Batman and Catwoman. A big change, to be sure, but strong writing made it work with Superman so maybe it can work here as well.  Selina Kyle always seemed like Bruce Wayne's greatest love interest and it will be interesting where things go from here.

The Damned in : "Satan's Retribution!"

I read with interest that Hellboy is getting a cinematic reboot.  I had kept reading about how the Gulllermo Del Toro-directed films didn't make enough to warrant a third film, so I was surprised by this development.  Ron Perlman really made the role his own, so David Harbour has big shoes (nd a right hand) to fill.  This new take will supposedly be a darker version of the character, so perhaps the new take will strike a stronger chord with audiences.

The Damned made their first appearance way back in STF #176...

Power Girl and She-Hulk

The first season of Supergirl ended with the title character looking surprised at the unseen passenger of a rocket.  Was it Krypto, Superman, her mother, or someone else?  Some have speculated that this could be the introduction of Power Girl into the series, which could be interesting as well.  For a character that has been cosplayed so much, it is surprising that we still have not seen an official live action version yet.

Green Arrow & Black Canary and Hawkeye & Mockingbird

Now that *** SPOILER for Arrow fans who aren't caught up **** the death that has been teased all of the current season was revealed to be Laurel Lance, the (second) Black Canary, the series could go a few ways.  Laurel whispered something to Ollie before she was declared dead, so the whole thing could be a fake by the two of them, which would anger fans I think.  Felicity could be come the new Black Canary, which would anger fans even more. Maybe they will just give the character a rest.  What I hope will happen, though, is that by next season Caity Lotz will return from her time on DC's Legends of Tomorrow as the White Canary and reclaim her role as the Original Black Canary.  I always prefered her in the role anyway.

Although this is the first appearance of all of these heroes together, Black Canary and Mockingbird have crossed paths before on the blog.  Green Arrow and Hawkeye have met a few times - They first met in one of my very earliest STF covers... then they were at odds with a few fellow Avengers along for the tale... Next up they faced off against The Hulk and Solomon Grundy... and the last time we saw them it was time to hone their skills...

Cloak and Dagger and Nightwing

I'm trying to remember if Cloak & Dagger have made any appearances on Marvel's various animated shows.  The 90's Spider-Man series had lots of guest stars, but I don't think these two ever made the cut, unless it was a quick cameo that I have missed.  I haven't seen all of the current Spidey series, which also is guest star-heavy,  so I don't know if they have made an appearance there.  At any rate, I hope they make the leap somewhere soon because they would be perfect for animation.

The Green Hornet and Nightwing

The Green Hornet film was an insult to the classic character, in my opinion.  I was worried that it would tarnish the property, but I am glad to see that in the comics, The Green Hornet is forging right ahead.  He has attracted some amazing talent and I think that the character on the printed page is looking better than ever.  Here's hoping that a live action reboot will take its cues from the comic books next time around.

Nightwing and Spider-Man

There have been a couple of Batman/Spider-man team-ups actually published, but I think that this pairing might be even more cool to see.  They are closer in age and both like to make jokes at the bad guys' expense while taking them down.  I'm looking forward to the Amazing Spider-Man film coming out this summer.  I'm still not sold on the look of the Lizard or retreading the origin again, but the trailer did look cool. I really liked the organic shooters and the fact that Spidey is wisecracking again!
