Elongated Man and Stingray

I loved when some of my favorite C-list heroes got the spotlight, so a team up like this that featured two of them would have jumped right off of the racks for me.  Let's hear it for the unsung heroes of our youth!

Who’s Stingray? He doesn’t appear in Wikipedia.

Here's his Wiki entry.

C-list? Maybe with DC, but not with STF!
Is there more to come with this story? Surely Moon Knight is on the case too?

"Who's Stingray?' *Sigh!* Don't some people make you feel like you should be collecting social security?

Good job on the blending, Ross!. I especially loved Ralph's thought balloon!

When in doubt, disambiguate.

My problem is that he's just... there. His presence there doesn't seem to be important at all. It could be anyone there in his place. Aquaman. Submariner. Or even nobody at all. Wouldn't change a thing evidently. In most of these covers the interaction between crossover-ed heroes is important, meaningful, and kind of special or even unique. But here? Well... yeah, who *is* Stingray? Why is his particular presence here at all relevant? Dopey me at least just doesn't get it. So this cover wouldn't get my attention as a comic book-buying kid; like at all. Sorry. (sheepish grin).
Not dissing your artwork or anything by the way; hell no. Just saying that compared to most of your 'stories' I see depicted in this gallery, this one wouldn't draw my attention anywhere near as much as the majority of them would (and man there are thousands here I *would* give almost anything to be able to read! :-)

Jason Toddman: A well thought out analysis, as Stingray is only just showing up during the plot point chosen for representation on the cover. You should see the next few panels, though - he kicks some Roxxon butt just as Ralph's air runs out!

IT'A A GREAT 1970ISH BASED COVER WHERE THE GOOD GUYS WHERE WHITE (OR IN THIS CASE BRIGHT COLORS) AND THE BAD GUYS ARE IN THE DARK (OR IN THIS CASE MURKY SHADOWS). I ENJOY IMAGES WHERE A CHARACTER US TAKEN OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONE. THIS REMINDS ME OF THE 189ISH JLA COVER THAT HAD B. CANARY 2 TRYING TO RESCUE 4 JLAERS FLOATING OFF INTO SPACE.

Ralph can enlarge his lungs as needed, but Ralph gets struck and he loses air. He needs a tank and also a visor to see in the sea. Si. Stingray could have been asked to come for any of a number of reasons.

We need The Archies teamed with the Scooby Gang.

Or Leela (from Futurama) meets Leela (from Doctor Who).

Okay. Thank you for your reply. :-)

Like, for instance, the Copperhead of Gotham City being sworn in as a member of the Serpent Society aboard the abandoned oil rig once assaulted by Namor and the original Nomad!
