With Matt Reeves The Batman planning on casting a younger Caped Crusader, the supporting characters will have to be re-cast as well. It's going to be tough to top Gary Oldman in the role, but I hope whoever the choose looks to his performance as inspiration. I hear that after voicing Alfred in the Batman Lego Movie, Ralph Fiennes wants to play a live action version of the trusty butler, which I would be all for.

In terms of lost relations, have you considered doing Casey Jones and Rick Jones, or Casey and Jessica Jones?
Not my favorite iteration of Flash but thanks
How about Angelica Jones (Firestar(Marvel)) and Angelica Jones (Angeltop (Dick Tracy))?
@Ira et. al: Don't forget those now-public domain Golden Agers... U.S. Jones and Yankee Doodle Jones.
@Ross: J.K. Simmons did a pretty good job playing a Los Angeles police chief on THE CLOSER. So, give him a half-way decent toupe' and I'm sure he could do an equally great job at playing GCPD's top cop.
P.S.---give this Flash Gordon a brighter red shirt, and he could almost pass for the Filmation cartoon version that was voiced by the late, great Bob "Tarzan" Ridgely.
@Ross: I love this pairing, particularly the "Uncle Jim" bit. I hope we get to see more of them; it's a little like the Strange brothers or the Danvers Twins (and I'd really, really like to see that last pair come back).
@Cary: I guess you haven't seen Justice League. J. K. had a fairly decent toupee there. On the other hand, he'd be too old to play Gordon against a younger, just-started Batman; I'm not sure who'd work for that.
Back to @Ross: Speaking of J. K. Simmons, you probably also remember that he was in the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy. Maybe at some point you can have his two characters -- Jameson and Gordon -- meet, possibly as a lead-in to the Batman/Spider-Man team-up we've all be wanting.
Will we see Flash Gordon team up with Batgirl in the near future
@Bob Greenwade: if we must have a younger Jim Gordon, how about Casey Affleck?
P.S.---I did see JUSTICE LEAGUE. And I seem to be one of the few people in the whole world who had zero complaints about it! Least of all, Steppenwolf of Apokolips as its main antagonist.
Please can we see Commissioner Gordon and Chief Quimby?
Go-go, Gadget guest-artist Ross! :-)
How about steve rogers being the great uncle of shaggy rogers
And with Shaggy's dad having been the Golden Age Little Boy Blue!
"Riddle Roy Roo? Row Rudder!"
Has Duncan & Malory (STARBLAZE Edition Graphics) ever met Flash Gordon yet?
Has Commissioner Gordon ever met Nyoka Gordon?
Ha ha excellent. Then there was 'Alias Smith and Jones', a Western TV series I recall from boyhood.
