Phantom Stranger and Thor

A tale of Gods and Monsters to be sure.  It's interesting that the body hopping Ultra-Humanite wound up in such a hairy form, given that he was Superman's original bald headed foe - before Luthor lost his locks.

The Toyman invades Toy Story

Toy Story 5 seems like another huge hit for the franchise, both critically and commercially.  I'm looking forward to checking out the next adventure of Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang.  This cover comes about from a suggestion by Marc Tyler Nobleman, comics' historian and Patron of this Blog.  Thanks, Marc!

Doctor Strange and Batgirl

When I posted a cover featuring Commissioner Gordon summoning Doctor Strange a week or so ago, Ken Roskos (a Patron of this Blog) and others said that the set up called for a follow up cover.  I had to agree, so here's what had Jim Gordon so concerned.

Superman and Beta Ray Bill

Sure, it's easy to accept a hero from another planet when they have movie star good looks.  What if your savior has a face that only a mother could love?

Supergirl and Iron Man

Now that Superman is available home home viewing, I am expecting the publicity for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow to start ramping up soon. It will be interesting to see how the film differs from the first DCU entry, despite it featuring another member of the Super family.

Ghost Rider and Vigilante

With all the trouble Marvel is having bringing Blade back to the big screen, I wonder how long it will be before we see Ghost Rider in the movies again.  Perhaps the answer would be a Midnight Sons type of film combining the two, and bringing in other characters like Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing.

Chewbacca and The Legion of Superheroes

I remember being excited to see the Muppet Show episode where Mark Hamill and characters from Star Wars appeared.  Chewbacca appeared without his ammunition strap so he looked kind of naked to me.  Still, it's one of the best Muppets episodes - the Pigs in Space sequence in this one is a masterpiece.

Kid Flash and The Young Allies

It looks like Wally West got his hands on the Cosmic Treadmill and found himself in a golden age adventure with wartime's greatest superhero sidekicks.  I'd read it!

Power Man & Iron Fist and Ragman

Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ is off to a strong start, and we know that The Punisher is scheduled to appear in the series.  That gives me hope that other characters from the Netflix series will get another chance.  I'd love to see a Heroes for Hire series that also includes The Daughters of the Dragon.

Black Goliath and Aquaman

Black Goliath's costume screams 70's superhero fashion.  Most of the choices would seem crazy today, But I always kind of liked it.  I enjoyed how he kind of seemed to be daring his opponents to punch him in the gut, that showed confidence!

Wildcat and Red Wolf

When Ben Woods, a Patron of this blog, suggested this pairing, I had to admit that it was one I had never considered.  The more I thought about it, though, the more it appealed to me. I can see these two working well together.   Thanks, Ben!

Sub-Mariner, Stingray & Namorita meet The Teen Titans

Namorita joined the Teen Titans back in STF #1714, and the team previously crossed paths with her and her cousin, The Sub-Mariner and back in STF #2648.  I figured that the third part in this ongoing saga should involve a third sea-faring guest star, and that was an opportunity to use the always cool Stingray.

Superman and Ghost Rider

There was a lot of prep work required on the background of this cover, before I could add the heroes in.  Here is a look at the behind the scenes progress:

Photon and Starman

These two heroes have power sets that I think would go well together.  I can see The Shade being able to give them trouble, though.  It would be a vissually interesting battle to see play out.

Batman and Daredevil in: "Birds of a Feather...!"

Batman and Daredevil have some history on the blog - they shared Golden Age adventures together in STF #1584 as well as on an early B&B Cover... and their first meeting was in even earlier MS Paint B&B meeting..., they were ambushed by the Owls in STF #1114... and DD was caught in the Bat-Signal in STF #1846. Batman has even met the original Golden Age Daredevil in STF #2252.

Aquaman and The Falcon

Uh Oh - It looks like the Death Dealer of the Dead Sea is back!  Let's hope that Sam Wilson has his hands on a weapon that can turn back the deadliest menace beneath the waves!

Scarlet Witch and The Teen Titans

This is another cover in which the primary image required some extension and repair before I could add in any new elements.  Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:

Freedom Fighters and Agents of Atlas

Between the Golden Age and Modern Ages of heroes, these were two teams that held down the fort. I have enjoyed both their original appearances as well as the modern revivals of both of these groups.  I'd love to see a story set in the 50's or 60's or even the present day that includes them both.

Masters of Evil Vs. The Justice Society of America

This Anniversary Issue took quite a bit of tweaking for me to get it to work. Here's a behind the scenes look at how I removed the Marvel heroes to make room for the JSA:

Avengers and The Teen Titans in "Mad March of the Mega-Men!"

I've had the Avengers meet The New Teen Titans on the blog - first in STF #1250, and then again in STF #3179, but for this Anniversary Issue, I thought it would be cool if Earth's Mightiest Heroes had an epic adventure with the original Teen Titans team.  With two such powerful teams, I needed to find adversaries that could give them a run for their money, and that's where the classic Kirby monsters come in!

Here are larger images of the individual stories:
