Deadman and Shanna & Ka-Zar

I wondered in an earlier post about whether The Savage Land would show up in the MCU.  While I do think it will eventually, now I wonder just where it will appear.  I doubt Ka-Zar & Shanna would get their own film but could they and their home show up in another?  Perhaps a third Black Panther installment or fifth Captain America film?  Maybe Shang Chi could visit in a sequel of his own?  The Fantastic Four are always exploring new lands, maybe they could discover it down the line.

Xena and Shanna The She-Devil

The Savage Land is an untapped locale so far for the MCU.  I hope they get there eventually, though.  In addition to residents Shanna and Ka-Zar, some really cool Marvel Comics storylines have taken place there.  I'd love to see it and it's inhabitants brought to the big screen.

Shanna the She-Devil and Animal Man

Grant Morrison has worked on many comic properties and has made quite an impact with major ones like The X-Men, JLA, Batman and more.  I've enjoyed the big concepts that he has brought to those runs , but my favorite works of his are when he takes over lesser known or new characters and really runs with them.  I still count the first 26 issues of Animal Man to be some of the best comics that I have ever read and feel that Aztek: The Ultimate Man is an overlooked gem of a series.

Shanna and Rima

This is a pairing that I am surprised I am only getting to now.  I mean, I was a big Tarzan fan as a kid, so a female version of the character naturally held appeal for me as well.  Even better if they had ties to the superhero worlds that I was fascinated with. Rima was on Super Friends and Sheena operated out of The Savage Land, a well traveled Marvel locale.  And what's better than a gorgeously illustrated scantily clad queen of the jungle - well, two of them, of course!

Superman and Ka-Zar & Shanna

I like that Marvel could have their cake and eat it too when it came to Ka-Zar and Shanna.  With the Savage Land setting, they could tell Tarzan-type tales away from civilization, and then they could also have their jungle characters interacting with their more mainstream roster of super heroes.  The story possibilities

Tarzan and Shanna, The She-Devil

The latest I have read on the next Tarzan movie is that Warner Brothers has signed on David Yates to direct.  Yates helmed the last four Harry Potter films, so he knows his way around a major franchise at least.  Special effects have taken a major leap since the last live action Tarzan film, so I am very curious to see how this turns out.  No actor has been selected yet, but I have read names like Alexander Skarsgard and Charlie Hunnam being considered.  Hopefully we will hear more soon and that Hollywood will finally do this iconic hero justice.
