I remember The Green Hornet showing up on Batman, and Superman appearing on I Love Lucy, a couple of great early crossovers. I think that an episode like this would have been pretty cool to have seen as well!

Before I cut the cable cord, I would have a few shows that I would often watch in the morning while working on new covers. One was Dragnet, which played on MeTV early on weekdays. I thought it might be fun to put TV's first live action superhero alongside the no-nonsense law enforcement stars of that classic series.
Coming tomorrow: STF #4800!
Marry Christmas! I'd like to take this time to thank all of the visitors to this blog. Your kind words, comments and support have helped me to keep Super-Team family: The Lost Issues going for another year, and it's been an honor to share my covers with you all. I hope that everyone, no matter what they celebrate today, is in the company of friends and loved ones for a day filled with peace, love and joy!
I enjoyed making a photo cover featuring Superman meeting King Kong (along with The Phantom) back in STF #3306,STF #3306, but I always regretted not using the classic Kong from the original 1933 film. This cover finally scratches that itch for me. I added in a suitable opponent for our headlining characters to face off with.
When James Gunn announced that the first phase of the new cinematic DCU would be subtitled Gods and Monsters, it brought to mind a scenario like the one depicted above. I'm not sure what he ultimately has planned, but a classic film featuring not one but two heroic Reeves encountering the King of all Monsters would have been on my regular play list.
