Aquaman Vs. Sandman

Aquaman is a pretty tough guy but location is everything!  It would be interesting to see how he would get out of this fix.  I just finished the surprisingly entertaining Spider-Noir on Amazon Prime, and I enjoyed how The Sandman was realized on that show, pretty good for a TV budget.

Power Man and Iron Fist and Sandman

Reports are that the Netflix versions of Power Man and Iron Fist will appear in the next season of Daredevil: Born Again, and possibly even in the current season's finale.  I'll be glad to see them back and it will be interesting to see how they are handled.  Will Danny Rand finally have a proper costume?  With the big cliffhanger that the Luke Cage series ended on be addressed?  Only time will tell.

Guardian Vs. Sandman

Cadmus is the kind of place that I can see a reformed Flint Marko working at.  There would definitely be friction with the regular staff though, and that could make for a fun tale.

The Thing and Sandman

A deceptively simple looking cover - but it took a lot of caption removal and image replacement before I could add Dream in.  Here is a look behind the scenes:

Dick Tracy Vs. The Sinister Six

As cool as Dick Tracy's rogues gallery was, most of his villains did not live past their first adventure with the classic cop hero.  It's only natural that he would need to seek out new challenges once he worked through his personal roster of adversaries.  But how would he fare against the enhanced abilities of a half-dozen of Spider-Man's biggest foes?

Sandman and James Bond

Big news hit this week as control of the James Bond franchise has been given to Amazon.  What will that mean for the future of Bond movies?  Amazon has made some great content, but also some real clunkers, so who knows? I just hope this doesn't lead to a James Bond Cinematic universe.  I like Miss Moneypenny and Q, but I don't need to see them get their own spinoffs.

Batgirl & Robin Vs. The Sinister Six

With Kraven about to make his cinematic debut, we will finally have seen live action versions of all of the Sinister Six.  Spider-Man: No Way Home came kind of close, but it's too bad we never got a proper Spidey Vs. The Sinister Six Movie.

Dick Grayson will face off against a slightly different Six lineup once he transitions into Nightwing, as seen in STF #3738...

The Vision and Sandman

Yesterday's cover may have also featured The Sandman and The Vision, but those are names that each belong to multiple characters.  This would, I am sure, be a decidedly different tale.

Sandman and The Vision

This is another relatively simple looking cover that required a bit of prep work before a new guest star could be added in, here's a look behind the scenes:

If this was not the Sandman and Vision that you were expecting to see, maybe tomorrow's cover will be a little closer - make sure you come back to check it out!

Spider-Man and The Flash in: "The Heinous Half-Dozen!"

I've paired Spider-Man together with Barry Allen a couple of times, first in STF #695 and then later in STF #4091, but I thought that it was time that the wall-crawler met the original speedster, Jay Garrick. Even with three on one odds, I don't know how much luck the villains will have here, let's hope they have an ace up their sleeve!

Nightwing Vs. Sandman in: "Beach Brawl!"

Sure, The Sandman has taken steps to become a reformed criminal - but nobody told Nightwing that!  This is a rematch between these two.  They first clashed back in STF #3447, and Dick Grayson also faced Flint Marko along with the rest of the Sinister Six in STF #3738...

Sandman Mystery Science Theatre 3000

When Shagg Matthews, Master Podcaster and Patron of this blog, suggested this combination, I thought that is was too crazy not to try.  I wasn't sure if I could pull it off until I saw this great cosplay by Adam Bakes.  Thanks for the idea, Shagg!

Sandman and Calvin and Hobbes

Dream of the Endless is all about storytelling, the imagination and the subconscious, So I imagine he would find himself drawn to these two. The adventures they create with one another would be sure to intrigue the master of the sleeping world.

Spider-Man and The Flash in: "Sand and Mirrors!"

I went to see The Flash and while it's not a bad movie, I can understand why it is not performing well.  I have never liked Ezra Miller in the role of Barry Allen and that was before the bizarre crime spree.  Having two versions here (while done quite effectively with special effects) didn't help things.  I mainly went to see Michael Keaton as Batman again and his parts were definitely the highlight of the movie fore me.  Sasha Calle was fine as an alternate Supergirl I guess, but all she was given to do was pout and punch so she didn't leave much of an impression.  The CGI definitely looked unfinished in many parts.  I didn't mind it so much in the Speed Force scenes, but the CGI babies in the opening rescue scene were so fake looking it eliminated any sense of peril.  Yes, there are some fun cameos - though they could have been removed and the movie would not have really been affected.  I did laugh out loud at the very final moment of the film, I couldn't believe they went there.  It's worth a watch on streaming - although I'll probably start it at the halfway mark for future viewings.

Spidey and The Flash previously shared an adventure in STF #695...

Sandman Vs. Sandman in: "This Town Ain't Big Enough!"

Ever since I paired these two way back in STF #59, I have received requests for a follow up tale. Well, consider your wish fulfilled... 11 years later!  Sorry about the long wait, you might say I slept on this one for a while...

Sandman and Sleeping Beauty Vs. Freddy Krueger

Happy Halloween! Looks like Freddy has found the perfect victim for his particular brand of night terrors.  Little did he know she was under the protection of one Wesley Dodds... but will the mystery man have what it takes to save the princess?

Freddy previously crossed paths with a different Sandman in STF #1016...

Sandman, Little Nemo and Nightmare

Word is still out on whether the Netflix Sandman series will come back for another season.  Apparently the  ratings were okay, but the high cost of the series is a still a factor.  I thought it was pretty well done,  though some episodes were more to my liking than others.  I did appreciate how closely they stuck to the comic stories.  Dream of a Thousand Cats was one of my favorite Sandman tales, and I really enjoyed how that was adapted.

Cloak and Dagger and Sandman

In Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, it was explained that dreams were a peek into variant versions of yourself.   Since we are still in what Marvel is calling The Multiverse Saga, that certainly opens up the possibility of Nightmare finally making his MCU debut.  Perhaps in a third installment of Doctor Strange, or maybe as the villain in a Midnight Sons type of movie featuring Blade, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Elsa Bloodstone and so on.

Sandman and Moon Knight

It sounds as though Moon Knight will be getting another season on Disney+.  That's good news, as the series left off on a huge cliffhanger and I want to see where the Steven Grant/Marc Spector/Jake Lockley story goes.  I do hope to see more of Moon Knight in costume the next time around - and less blackout moments when the action begins!  It will be great to see Oscar Isaac return and hopefully we'll see his character interact with some other members of the MCU.

The Sinister Six Vs. Nightwing

There was talk of a Nightwing movie in the works for a while, but I don't know if that project is alive anymore.  Perhaps if Batgirl is a hit with audiences, Warner Bros will take another look at the property.  Will there be a mention of Dick Grayson in that movie?  With Michael Keaton's Batman due to show up there, we might get a clue as to what the boy wonder's cinematic future holds.
