Judge Dredd and Ambush Bug

I don't think Dredd would have much patience, if any at all, for the Bug's antics - and that of course would make this an entertaining tale to read.  Sharp-eyed visitors may have noticed that Ambush Bug also put his Who's Who in the DC Universe profile to use in STF 4015...

Judge Dredd and Han Solo

There would definitely be plenty of friction between these two if they were forced to work together on a mission.  That alone would be enough to make for an interesting story to watch unfold.  Pity the Hutts or whoever that get in their way when they are fighting side by side, though!

Judge Dredd Vs. Howard the Duck

This cover required a bit of prep work before I could add Howard into the mix.  Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:

Deadman and Judge Dredd

Dredd doesn't have much patience for unexpected team ups, but this is one that he would not have a whole lot of control over - and I think could make for an interesting tale.

Dick Tracy and Judge Dredd

It might be interesting to see how an old school cop reacts to the exaggerated world that Dredd inhabits.  Something tells me that he would soon learn to adapt and fit right in.  But is the world ready for Judge Tracy?

Swamp Thing and Judge Dredd

Looks like Dredd is out of his jurisdiction, which usually makes for an entertaining tale. He wouldn't be there unless the was chasing down some kind of larger threat.  Let's hope that he and Swamp Thing can work together to confront whatever it may be.

Judge Dredd and The Teen Titans

If these teen heroes thought that their mentors could be tough on them, I can just imagine how they would feel with Dredd calling the shots for the group.  I can imagine a Silver Age story in which the Mega-City One lawman and the super sidekicks with a rebellious streak have to find a way to work together for a common goal.

Judge Dredd and Jonah Hex (Part Two)

Presenting the second half of the two-part tale!

Judge Dredd seems like a character that would be perfect for animation, and I am surprised we haven't seen a series or movie in that style for the world famous lawman.  I did a search and it looks like there are a few fan made animated shorts out there, I'll have to check them out.  There were reports out a year or so ago about an animated Dredd series in development, possibly headed to Netflix, but who knows if anything will come of that, given the fact that they are slashing their animation division and canceling lots of upcoming projects (including Jeff Smith's Bone, grrrr).

Judge Dredd and Jonah Hex (Part One)

It's been a tough week for comicdom, first losing Neal Adams and now George Perez has passed on as well.  I am glad that fans and pros had the chance in the last year to honor Perez after hearing of his terminal diagnosis.  His honesty about his illness allowed that to happen, one more gift he gave after the decades of enjoyment that his amazingly detailed artwork provided. Both Adams and Perez have created such impressive bodies of work that they will rightfully be remembered forever.

This is only Part One of a Two Part team-up - make sure to come back tomorrow for Part Two!

Judge Dredd and The Atom

With his long comics history and large following, I am surprised there has never been an animated movie or series featuring Judge Dredd.  I think there may be some animated fan efforts out there, but I haven't seen anything official.  It is definitely a property that would lend itself well to the form.

Judge Dredd and The Spectre

There have been a lot of cool motorcycle designs in comics, from Ghost Rider to Wildcat to Batman and his allies.  Judge Dredd's Lawmaster has to sit somewhere near the top of the list of my favorites.  It has just a foreboding presence as Dredd himself does, and there's no doubt who it belongs to.  I especially like the big chunky wheels.

Power Man & Iron Fist and Judge Dredd

As super-hero motorcycles go, there are a few that really stand out to me.  Ghost Rider's of course immediately comes to mind, as does Batgirl's ride from the 60's TV show. Judge Dredd's Lawmaster has to be at the top of the list.  Between the huge tires and gleaming eagle shield, it's just as imposing as its operator.

Lockjaw and Animal Man

Continued from yesterday's cover, we see that the Inhuman pooch was able to get away and find an ally.   Regular STF visitors will know that Buddy Baker, originally met the Pet Avengers back in STF #441... and it only stands to reason that he would be one human hero that they know they can turn to in a time of need.

Judge Dredd Vs. Pet Avengers

Mega City One's top law enforcement officer forced to become a glorified dog catcher?  I can't imagine Dredd would be too happy about that situation.  An angry Judge Dredd makes for a good story though, so I think this would be a fun read.

This is only the first part of a two-part adventure - so make sure that you stop by tomorrow for the thrilling conclusion!

Judge Dredd and V

I had heard some rumors of a sequel movie or even a TV series for Karl Urban as Judge Dredd.  I don't know if anything is still in the planning stages, especially now that Urban has another his series, The Boys, underway.  I hope that he can find the time and a studio has interest, because it would be great to see another Dredd film.

A big thank you to Bob Sanders for suggesting this pairing!

Ghost Rider and Judge Dredd

While Dredd was not a huge financial success, the film was well regarded among fans and has become somewhat of a cult hit.  Every once in a while I will read something about a sequel or perhaps even a TV series to follow it up.  I think that factors like what size budget to use and Karl Urban's availability for the title role must be playing heavily into the decision whether to proceed or not.  Hopefully something will be ironed out, because I would enjoy seeing the further adventures of a live action Judge Dredd.

Doctor Who and Judge Dredd

My first memories of Doctor Who are from when I was in grade school and would come home to watch episodes featuring Tom Baker on PBS.  I was at the perfect age where the low budget sets and cheesy special effects did not phase me.  I thought K-9 was cool and Leela was quite alluring.  I loved the Doctor's outfit and attitude and found the show to be the closest thing to a live action comic book that I could find.  I enjoy the new episodes and new Doctors, but nothing will compare with my first exposure to the mythos.

Judge Dredd and Demolition Man

I was sorry that the recent Dredd film was not enough of a commercial success to get a sequel green lit.  However, now there seems to be talk emerging of bringing the character to TV.  Karl Urban has done television before, would he be willing to return to the role?  I am already interested, and that would make it even more appealing.

Thanks to Mike Shirley, a Patron of this blog, for giving me this idea for this Sly encounter!

Legion of Super-Heroes and Judge Dredd

The elimination of Superman's time as Superboy following Crisis on Infinite Earths really threw a monkey wrench into the Legion of Superheroes.  Attempts to fix it by using Kon-El, Pocket Universe Superboy or Supergirl in his place have never seemed to stick, and the LSH are currently in limbo.  Let's hope that they can find a way to click with audiences when they inevitably return.

Judge Dredd and Spider-Man in: "Hanging Offense!"

I am hoping for cinematic another outing for Karl Urban as Judge Dredd.  Despite the first film not being a huge commercial success, it was relatively well regarded and has gained a following on home video.  There have been rumblings about another film, probably on an even more modest budget to minimize financial risk. Urban seems to have a pretty busy schedule but I hope he's willing to wear the helmet once again.

Spidey and Dredd first crossed paths in STF #507...
