Martian Manhunter Vs. Green Goblin

 

There is no character that I want to see join the DCU more than Martian Manhunter.  He's the heart and soul of the Justice League and I think would be a fan favorite character if the right actor plays him.  Could he be introduced in Man of Tomorrow, which promises to be a somewhat space faring adventure? I haven't heard anything but there's always hope.

Amanda Waller Vs. Green Goblin

 

Norman Osborn is referring here to events that took place in STF #4395, when he clashed with The Suicide Squad. Let's see if their leader has better luck against him!

Batman Vs. The Green Goblin in: "Breaking the Vow!"

 

Norman Osborne enjoys going after a hero mentally as well as physically, so I can see him pulling out all the stops to mess with Brice Wayne's head.  Batman first faced off against The Green Goblin on an MS Paint B&B cover way back in 2011...

Green Goblin Vs. The Suicide Squad

 

Norman Osborne eventually tried using villains to form his own Dark Avengers team, so it's not much of a stretch to think that he might have tried that stunt with the members of the Suicide Squad first. It would be a cool tale to see play out.

Black Lightning Vs. The Green Goblin

 

I hope that Norman Osborn has developed some protective defenses against electrical attacks after working with criminals like Electro and The Shocker, or he's about to find out that Jefferson Pierce is not one to back down from a threat.  Black Lightning is used to having to deal with Tobias Whale, another powerful businessman with a megalomaniacal streak, so he's more than ready to take on the likes of the Green Goblin.

The Sinister Six Vs. Nightwing

 

There was talk of a Nightwing movie in the works for a while, but I don't know if that project is alive anymore.  Perhaps if Batgirl is a hit with audiences, Warner Bros will take another look at the property.  Will there be a mention of Dick Grayson in that movie?  With Michael Keaton's Batman due to show up there, we might get a clue as to what the boy wonder's cinematic future holds.

Teen Titans Vs. The Green Goblin

 

One cool thing about the persistent rumors of previous Spider-Man franchise movie villains returning for Spider-Man: No Way Home, is that we will most likely get to see upgraded looks for all of them.  I really hope that Willem DaFoe's Green Goblin makes an appearance.  He was perfect in the role, but I always felt they could have done a better job with his costume.  The unmoving helmet hindered his performance and there wasn't any purple in there!

Robin in The Marvel Universe

 

Loki was a fun series on Disney+.  I actually think it could haven been tightened up a bit, there was a lot of talking between the scattered action scenes.  Still, it was always interesting to see Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson interacting with one another.  My favorite episode was the one with all of the multiple Lokis, including Alligator Loki and Richard E. Grant doing a wonderful take on Classic Loki.  Plus we got to see cameos by Throg and the Thanos Copter!  The final episode with Jonathan Majors chewing the scenery was an intriguing introduction to Kang, but I am looking forward to Majors' take on a more sinister variant of the villain in future appearances.  The series didn't wrap up as neatly as I was expecting, but that's no big surprise since there is a season two on the way.

Green Goblin Vs. Catwoman

 

The last episode of Loki featured the rebirth of the Marvel Multiverse, leading into the upcoming Doctor Strange and Spider-Man sequels. Not a huge surprise, as one of those has Multiverse in the title and the other has been long rumored to include characters from previous Fox Spider-Man movies.  Will Willem Dafoe return as the Green Goblin?  He's made some coy comments, but I haven't read anything concrete about his inclusion.  Hopefully a teaser trailer will be released soon and we can get an official idea as to exactly what  multiversal shenanigans will be be going on.

Green Goblin Vs. Man-Bat In "Termination at 20,000 Feet!"

There were some rumblings that Norman Osborne would be introduced into the MCU, and that he would begin putting together his team of Dark Avengers.  With the breakdown of talks between Sony and Disney leading to the departure of Spider-Man and his related characters, that will clearly no longer be the case,  Marvel can still do a similar story line with Baron Zemo and The Thunderbolts though (which I'd prefer anyway). There's also always a chance that the two studios will iron out a deal and work together again.

Joker's Wild in: "Knock Knock, Who's Dead?"

I'm not sure what to make of the upcoming Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie.  It looks like a well made period character piece, but I don't know how much it will actually remind me of The Joker from the comics.  Like Wolverine, the Clown Prince of Crime is a character that works better without a definitive origin story.  I'm not sure if I want to be asked to identify or sympathize with a crazed murderer.  I'm also not sure about Phoenix' look in the role, with applied on makeup that doesn't really match what we know from the villain's classic appearance.  I guess if this is going to be more of an Elseworlds-type tale they can take some liberties.

Green Goblin Vs. The Atom

Another season of DC's Legends of  Tomorrow is about to conclude, and once again we have barely seen Ray Palmer in costume, let alone use his shrinking powers.  If they just wanted a goofy guy to run around on adventures with the team, they should have used Snapper Carr or something.  It's a frustrating show that teases fans with characters they love, only to have them completely under-utilized.

Green Goblin Vs. Lex Luthor

One of the many pleasant surprises from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was the use of the Ultimate Comics' version of The Green Goblin.  Even though he just had a small role, it was very cool to see him in action.  The whole movie is jam-packed full of treats for comic fans, though, literally from the first frame to the post credits scene.  The love for Spider-Man and the genre  that went into the creation of this well-deserved Oscar-winner is very evident, and I highly recommend it.

Man-Bat Vs. The Green Goblin

There's no character I want to show up in a future Batman movie than Man-Bat.  Special effects are finally at a place where he can truly be depicted accurately, and his back story and fact that he can be an ally or adversary to the Dark Knight make him perfect for a big screen treatment.   The Green Goblin was very well played by Willem Dafoe, but I wouldn't mind Marvel Studios bringing the villain back, if only to see if a more comics accurate appearance could be achieved.

Green Lantern Vs. Green Goblin in: "Double Jeopardy!"

I Wonder why Doctor Octupus was chosen to be Spider-Man's villain in the Superman Vs. Spider-Man, when The Green Goblin would have been a much better fit.  As much as I loke Doc Ock, GG has always been considered Spidey's greatest arch enemy, plus he is a wealthy and powerful businessman in addition to being a villain, making him more of a natural fit to join forces with Lex Luthor as well.  Perhaps the death of Gwen Stacy was still too fresh as the time the tabloid-sized crossover was released, and Marvel just didn't want to go there?

Green Goblin Vs. The Creeper

This is a match up that would be very cool to see.  They are each Ditko-designed characters known for their maniacal laughter and outlandish garb in their costumed identities while holding down public positions of responsibility as civilians. There are a lots of similarities and contrasts that a writer could play off of.

Green Arrow Vs. The Green Goblin

I am glad that the most recent episode of Arrow has put the whole Ra's Al Ghul subplot to bed.  It made an some interesting diversion, but I would like for the show to be a little more focused on Green Arrow instead of making him a Batman stand in.  Even Felicity has become "Overwatch", a wheelchair bound tech expert organizing the team, pretty much Oracle in everything but name.

Firestorm Vs. The Green Goblin

I always saw Firestorm as filling in a void at DC when he was introduced.  Here was a teenage character with no ties to any previously existing hero with his own title.  He reminded me of Spider-Man in that way.  Given that and the Gerry Conway connection, I think that this would be a fun match up to see.

Two-Face and The Green Goblin

Willem Dafoe was perfectly cast as the Green Goblin in my opinion.  It's too bad they when with the non-moving sports helmet type mask that covered up so much of his performance. Aaron Eckhart looked amazing as Two-Face (a quantum leap from Tommy Lee Jones with teeth painted onto a purple cheek), but I have to admit being a little disappointed that his entire criminal career lasted only a couple of hours.  I hope future onscreen incarnations of these classic villains will learn from the mistakes of the past and give comic fans even better versions than we have seen thus far.

The Joker Vs. The Green Goblin

I remember back in the day when Tim Burton's Batman movie was first announced all the speculation as to who would play The Joker.  Ray Liotta was mentioned, and that would have been interesting.  Jack Nicholson's casting gave the film an extra level of respect and I liked what he did with the role.  Still, he never looked right for the part and I had another choice at the time:  James Woods.  He was tall and lean and was known for playing psychos and high-intensity characters.  I would have loved to have seen him as the clown prince of crime.
