Spider-Man and Starman in "The Perilous Partnership of Payton and Parker!"

 

With the strong legacy aspects that Starman has that spread from comics' Golden Age to the distant future, the character seems perfectly suited for a streaming series.  I'd base it on Jack Knight and branch out from there, just as James Robinsons' excellent 90's comic series did.

Spider-Man met Starman in his Prince Gavyn form in STF #3374, and crossed paths with the Ted Knight Starman in STF #1479...

This marks the 4000th cover that I have posted on this blog! I never though I would reach this point, but here we are!

Iron Man enters The House of Mystery

Comic books have had a lot of horror hosts, and Cain was always my favorite.  I loved his look as well as the dark humor with which he would present his twisted morality tales and monster stories.  It was also fun to see him interact with fellow host Abel.  He never passed up the opportunity to play the older brother role and give the House of Secrets host a hard time.

Marvel Zombies are The Walking Dead

I continue to enjoy AMC's The Walking Dead, even though I tend to watch half of the episodes with my hands covering my eyes - I'm not a big fan of the gore.  Still, I love the tension that is built up over the course of the seasons and the core cast of characters give solid performances.  I've read of plans to spin off the show, and I don't know how wise of an idea that is.  They have good thing going now, and I wouldn't want to see it diluted.

Batman and Marvel Zombies

When I first heard of the Marvel Zombies mini-series, it sounded like a silly concept and I didn't bother to pick up the issues. I then read a bunch of positive reviews as well as some of Robert Kirkman's other comics work and decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did because I really got a kick out of it, as well as the sequel. It has a nice gallows humor to it and Sean Phillips knows how to draw gore without it having too much of a gross out factor. I haven't tried the later series with different creative teams, hopefully Marvel isn't stretching the concept too thin.
