Space Ghost and The Tick

While Space Ghost Coast to Coast was a fun series, I preferred the Hanna-Barbera star as a straight up hero.  But who could take his place for hosting duties?  Given his outgoing personality, I thing that The Tick would be the perfect candidate for such an assignment.

The Tick and Krypto

I recently watched the new Tick series that's running on Amazon Prime.  While the performances and production values are fine, for me this version really misses the mark.  For some reason the show is played very straight, with only Peter Serafanowicz' Tick acting  in a larger than life manner (and not even all that much).  Almost all of the hilarious absurdity that made the comics, cartoon and Patrick Warburton TV series so enjoyable is gone in favor of more standard superhero fare.  Perhaps they wanted to set the show apart from other incarnations, but for me it's a misfire.

The Tick Meets Plastic Man

The Tick is back in Live action form thanks to Amazon, this time with Peter Serafinowicz in the title role.  I have seen a couple of short clips from the show and I am not sure what to make of it yet.  Serafinowicz looks like he is giving his all but after Patrick Warburton's performance it is hard to accept a new actor in the role.  I'll have to see a full episode before passing judgment.

The Tick and Samurai Jack

It would have been fun to see these two share an animated adventure.  Not only would it be cool to see Jack slicing through The Tick's rogues gallery, the clash in personalities between the heroes would make for some enjoyable interaction.  I am sure they would still see the heroic natures within one another, despite their differences.

The Tick Vs. Ambush Bug

These guys seem like they were made to appear together. Aside from the similarity in appearance, the stories that they star in are always chock full of commentary and humor regarding the state of the comics industry.  I can imagine that any tale that featured them side by side would just be a ton of fun.  Heck, call in Patrick Warburton and Henry Winkler to reprise the voices and animate the story!  Now that would be a blast!

The Tick Vs. Doctor Doom

Nobody wants to squash villainy more than the Tick, and nobody has less patience for shenanigans than Victor Von Doom, so I think this would make for an interesting match up. I don't know who I would give the edge to in this battle, but  it would be fun watching Doom's nerves getting increasingly frayed.

The Spectre and The Tick

These two couldn't be farther apart as far as their personalities go, but that's what exactly why it might make for a fun pairing.  Satirical comic characters can sometimes fall flat, but Ben Edlund's adventures with The Tick work exceptionally well because they come from a place of true love for the genre.  The Spectre is one of my all-time favorite characters, especially when drawn by Jim Aparo, as he is here. His thirst for vengeance is as strong as The Tick's commitment to justice, and it would be fun to see them cross paths.
