How You Can Help To Support Super-Team Family: The Lost Issues!

Do you enjoy following Super-team family: The Lost Issues, and  would like to ensure that it keeps going?  Here's how you can do just that!

It is time once again for my once a year reminder about how you can help out - while this blog is a labor of love for me, it remains a one-man operation and can be quite time consuming to keep up on a daily basis, while trying to maintain or improve the quality.

The blog will of course always be free, but if you would like to help support it, there are a couple of ways to do so - by by making a one time contribution by clicking on the "Donate" button at the bottom of this page, or by becoming a Patron at Patreon.  While I welcome and take suggestions from anyone, Patrons of course get special consideration in that regard.

I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to check out my covers, and those who participate in the comments sections, whether on the blog itself, the Facebook Fan Page or my Twitter Feed.  I always enjoy hearing feedback and I read every message with amusement, appreciation and interest. I may not respond to every idea for a future cover, but I see them all and keep a list of every one that I feel has potential. you'll never know when a team up you suggested a year or so earlier might suddenly show up.

In a couple of weeks I will hit the 5,000th cover on the blog (when you count the 510 B&B and MTIO covers that it began with)!  I never would have made it this far without the support and encouragement that I have received over the years.  I look forward to sharing the covers that I have coming up.   Thank you all for stopping by for your daily dose of team up fun!

Justice League of America and The Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch previously had a destructive meeting with The JLA along with The Vision as the main story back in STF #800...  Well, if she had a hand in destroying them there, it's only fitting that she find a way to bring them back here.  Let's hope they aren't too worse for the wear!

Elektra and Black Canary in: "Amateur Hour!"

I think these two would work well together.  So much so, that I first featured this pairing way back in STF #47, an early MS Paint effort.  I felt it was high time that they met up again on the blog, especially when I could use the amazing artwork of Alan Davis to make it happen.

Blue Beetle & Booster Gold and Power Man & Iron Fist

These are two of my favorite buddy teams in all of comics, so it is long overdue that I have them meet up on the blog.  While one team is literally all about business, the other likes to have a little fun while they are crime fighting, which might make for a fun dynamic.

The Spectre Vs. Red Skull

It would be a satisfying read to see The Spectre lay the smack down on The Red Skull.  Still, with the Cube in his possession, the Skull may not go down all that quickly.  I'd like to see how this conflict plays out.

Black Lightning Vs. Venom

How do Symbiotes fare against electricity?  Has Venom ever had an encounter with Electro, and found out?  I think this would be an interesting battle to see go down.

The Joker and Mighty Mouse

Uh oh - A Jokerized Mighty Mouse could cause quite a bit of havoc in Gotham City!  I'm sure that's exactly what the Clown Prince of Crime is hoping for.

Captain Hero Vs. Condiment King

For some reason, I have had multiple requests for this one-shot joke villain from Batman: The Animated Series to appear.  Well - here you go! There was one hero that I instantly thought of for him to face off against.

Thundra and Chaselon

Everyone on this cover would probably be considered a C-Lister at best.  That would not have stopped me from wanting to pick up an issue like this.  Heck, it would have even been a selling point - I always enjoyed seeing lesser known characters get their moment in the spotlight.

Iron Man, The Question and The Terminator

Looks like I just popped images of Vic Sage and a Terminator in to create this new cover, right?  There was a bit of prep work required before I could do that.  Here is a look at the behind the scenes progress:

Wallace & Gromit and Spider-Man

I was very happy to see that Wallace & Gromit have a new movie coming out for Christmas this year - Vengeance Most Foul.  Even better, it will feature the return of their nemesis from The Wrong Trousers - Feathers McGraw.  I can't wait to watch it.

Batman and Daredevil in: "Birds of a Feather...!"

Batman and Daredevil have some history on the blog - they shared Golden Age adventures together in STF #1584 as well as on an early B&B Cover... and their first meeting was in even earlier MS Paint B&B meeting..., they were ambushed by the Owls in STF #1114... and DD was caught in the Bat-Signal in STF #1846. Batman has even met the original Golden Age Daredevil in STF #2252.

Justice League of America Vs. Apocalypse (Round 2)

That is a pretty formidable line up of Horsemen, even for Apocalypse.  Let's hope that the element of surprise is enough to help J'onn J'onzz turn the tide - at least until reinforcements arrive.  The JLA first face Apocalypse in STF #1664...

Judge Dredd and Han Solo

There would definitely be plenty of friction between these two if they were forced to work together on a mission.  That alone would be enough to make for an interesting story to watch unfold.  Pity the Hutts or whoever that get in their way when they are fighting side by side, though!

The Creeper Vs. The Kingpin in: "Thank You, Sir, May I Have Another?"

Wilson Fisk is referring here to his first battle with Jack Ryder, back in STF #2368.  Let's hope that The Creeper can escape his grip long enough to get a chance to fight back!

Aquaman and The Falcon

Uh Oh - It looks like the Death Dealer of the Dead Sea is back!  Let's hope that Sam Wilson has his hands on a weapon that can turn back the deadliest menace beneath the waves!

Superman Meets King Kong

I enjoyed making a photo cover featuring Superman meeting King Kong (along with The Phantom) back in STF #3306,STF #3306, but I always regretted not using the classic Kong from the original 1933 film.  This cover finally scratches that itch for me.  I added in a suitable opponent for our headlining characters to face off with.

Sleepwalker Vs. Batman's Villains

The villains in Batman's rogues gallery have made for some true nightmare scenarios and visually stunning dream sequences.  It might be fun to put a hero in there that could face off with them in the dreamworld.

The Fantastic Four and Four Famous Co-Stars

It was fun coming up with a DC Comics analogue of the Fantastic Four.  What better issue to feature them in than in than STF #4444? This seems like the kind of tale that might have shown up in a FF Annual back in the 70's or 80's.

Wildcat Vs. Sabretooth

It might be interesting to these two cat-themed brawlers go one on one.  Ted Grant has the fighting discipline and decades of experience, but will that be enough to overcome berserker rage and a healing factor?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Jimmy Olsen

I thought that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was a fun movie. The gritty animation style worked well and reminded me of some of the earlier comics that featured the group of pizza-loving brothers.  I also liked how they were presented as younger, truly teenagers for once. The April O'Neill redesign really didn't work for me though, that seemed to be change for change sake.  Still, It's a fun, fast paced adventure that is well worth watching for fans of the characters.

Boba Fett and Wolverine

After being disappointed with the more recent Marvel and Star Wars offerings on Disney+, I wasn't holding out much hope for X-Men '97.  I was happy to find out that my apprehensions were unjustified and the series was a blast to watch.  It truly felt like a successor to the original series, with improved animation that still honored the original designs.  The stories are told at a breakneck pace, I was surprised how many comics storylines they covered in just this one season - but for me it all worked.  I'm looking forward to the show coming back.

Scarlet Witch and The Teen Titans

This is another cover in which the primary image required some extension and repair before I could add in any new elements.  Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:

Sherlock Holmes Vs. The Riddler

Sherlock Holmes actually did show up in a couple of Batman stories, which was pretty cool.  An actor  playing Holmes had a run in with The Joker in a fun tale as well. Still, the match up I'd be interested to see would be Holmes versus Edward Nigma. Nobody is better at solving riddles than Holmes, and that would challenge the Batman foe like never before.

Doc Savage and Jonny Quest

This is another pairing that feels long overdue to me.  Two adventurers that regularly face off against pulp-inspired villains would be bound to cross paths at one point or another. It would certainly make for an exciting story, or episode of a cartoon.

Tintin and Batman and the Outsiders

Batman has been called the World's Greatest Detective and Tintin can never pass up a good story, so it wouldn't surprise me to see the young reporter get involved with The Outsiders, especially when there's a mystery to solve.  Tintin previously met Batman in STF #752, and first encountered him way back on a B&B cover from 2010...

Werewolf by Night Vs. Hawkman

This would be a savage battle, to be sure - but one that I would be thrilled to read, especially if a comic legend like Joe Kubert or Gil Kane was on the art chores.

Mephisto enters The House of Mystery

There aren't too many guests that might make Cain nervous, but I think Mephisto could be one of them. It might be fun to read a story in which the spooky tables are turned.

The Thing and Donald Duck

These are two of my all time favorite characters. they are both loveable, funny guys who sometimes let their tempers get the best of them. I can only imagine the antics they would get up to if they shared an adventure together.

Sunday, June 2, 2024

Rom and Robin & Batgirl

Here's another cover which required a bit of prep work on the main image before I could add in the guest stars.  Check out a peek at the behind the scenes progress:

Constantine and Man-Thing

Someone with as much supernatural knowledge as John Constantine would likely not succumb to a fear-fueled fiery combustion in the presence of the Man-Thing, so they would make for an interesting partnership.  The only question is just wha tthe muck-encrusted swamp dweller wants from the Hellblazer.
