The Fantastic Four and Four Famous Co-Stars

It was fun coming up with a DC Comics analogue of the Fantastic Four.  What better issue to feature them in than in than STF #4444? This seems like the kind of tale that might have shown up in a FF Annual back in the 70's or 80's.

not sure what use they would have for solomon Grundy, plastic man could impersonate Reed, phantom lady the same for Sue,and Firebrand the Torch, if you wanted a big fighter type why pick a villain ?
still i’m sure you have a story in mind…

Grundy has a different personality every time he is reborn. This time, he's a bit more cooperative.

DC has the Terrifics, which is supposed to be a riff on the FF with Mr Terrific, Phantom Girl, Plastic Man and Metamorpho.

But were they all around in '44?

for your next trick, how about Hunter "Grendel" Rose vs. Marc "the Moon Knight" Spector?

Ross is right. Even the Challengers of the Unknown (the true inspiration for Marvel's FF) would've only been little kids in the 1940's. As for Solomon Grundy? Who's to say he isn't being kept on an emotional short leash by a certain stow-away from four hundred forty-one issues ago?*

*See STF #4003 from March 30 of last year.

Awesome!!!!

I can't wait to see what you have in mind for Issue #4500. :-)

Brilliant.

Happy #4444 Ross! I see that Ben took on Solomon Grundy some time ago, so the potential for friction here makes for a good subplot. I don't think any of these 4 Co-Stars can match Reed's scientific genius, but the Phantom Lady seems to be their leader. Good call!

@Ken Roskos: Danette Reilly would probably be able to out-fact Reed when it came to geology. Volcanoes, especially!

Yeah, Grundy's one of those villain/antihero types. He'd fit right in with Sandman or Venom.

PS: Now we have a tad over 3 years to figure out #5555. It'll have to include the Fatal Five, of course, but versus... The Agents of Atlas? The Harlem Globetrotters? Or maybe "5 famous co-stars" who all happen to be named Five (Umbrella Academy, Dark Matter, Short Circuit, and a couple of others).

Super-LOL!

Mi mi mi... *ahem*, anyway. Hi Ross, I don't know if you've done it, but just having Reed Richards match wits with Lex Luthor would be a good confrontation. Maybe have Solomon Grundy vs Annihilus, or Blastarr? And the Phantom Lady could take on the Red Ghost. I was going to suggest Sue Richards flying in Wonder Woman's invisible jet, but that would be pushing it. ;)

Ken,team Sue and Diana is a clear choice.

@Anon446: personally, I can't see that.
