Harley Quinn, Doc Samson and Moonstone

 

Harley Quinn has encountered Doc Samson before on this blog - they first met in STF #1216 and then crossed paths again in STF #2221.  Harley also squared off against Moonstone in STF #3122.  I thought it was time to get all of them together.

Adam Strange and Doctor Strange (Vs. Hugo Strange)

I was disappointed that Adam Strange never got the chance to become closer to his comic book version before Krypton was cancelled.  He may still get a chance to shine though - HBO Max is planning a Strange Adventures TV series, and I imagine the character will be a part of that.  I am also interested in the upcoming Adam Strange comic series by Tom King, Mitch Gerads and Doc Shaner.

This is the fourth appearance of the Strange boys on the blog.  They were last seen forced to do penance in STF #2649, before that, they were trying to escape from Limbo in STF #2146, and they were first revealed to be brothers in STF #370...

Batman and The Invisible Girl (Vs. Hugo Strange & Dr. Doom)

I've been hoping that Hugo Strange would bet a chance at being that main villain in a Batman movie.  I have enjoyed B.D. Wong's performance in the role on Gotham, and that just makes me want to see the character make the leap to the big screen even more.  Besides being a great psychological antagonist to the Dark Knight, his Monster Men experiments could be a way to bring Kirk Langstrom/Man-Bat into the mix as well.

Batman and Guardians of the Galaxy

This one was a request, and it turned out to be a fun one. I have not followed the Guardians much aside from some guest appearances here and there, but I have heard good things about their solo series.

The bad guy on the cover here is Professor Hugo Strange, one of Batman's earliest villains. I'm not sure what Christopher Nolan's plans for the next Batman film are, but I think Strange could be a good choice for an adversary. I can see Ben Kingsley in the role. Hugo Strange used to deal in genetic manipulation and Monster Men, so they could even introduce characters like Man-Bat and Killer Croc through his involvement... although they may be a little too fantastical for the tone Nolan has set.
