Sgt. Fury and Wonder Woman

 

I'm betting that Fury and his Commandos would have welcomed some back up as powerful as Wonder Woman on their missions.  I know that I would have certainly welcomed reading about it!

Sgt. Fury & His Howling Commandos and G.I. Robot

 

I am very curious to see how G.I. Robot will be handled on the Creature Commandos animated show. As a basically non-verbal character, it might be a challenge to give him any kind of personality.  Still, James Gunn is writing the whole series, and he did a great job with Groot, so I am optimistic.

There's nothing like a good rescue mission tale, especially if it is illustrated by the likes of Dick Ayers or Joe Kubert. Those Silver and Bronze Age war comics really did attract some of the best artists.

The Unknown Soldier has met Nick Fury before on the blog - they last appeared together in STF #2578, and first crossed paths in STF #1686...

Sgt. Fury on the Planet of the Apes

 

There's talk of more Planet of the Apes movies on the way, but I'm not sure where in the timeline they should take part in.  I really enjoyed the last three installments, but they ended at a natural place.  Do audiences really want to see a movie about the apes finally crushing down the last remaining sickly humans?  Maybe it would be better to jump forward in time and depict an all-ape conflict.

Sgt. Fury and Blackhawk

Blackhawk is another one of those DCEU projects that was announced, and seemingly forgotten.  None other than legendary director Stephen Spielberg was named as director, which got me very interested... and then nothing.  I haven't heard a peep about this movie since that initial announcement, I hope that it is still on.

Now this is how Dark Knight Rises should have ended!  There have been reports that Warner Brothers is trying to woo Christian Bale back to play Batman in the Man of Steel sequel with ungodly amounts of money.  While it would be cool to see Bale and Henry Cavill together at the World's Finest heroes, tying Man of Steel into the Dark Knight trilogy will raise a lot of questions.  For instance, where was Clark when Gotham City was held under siege for months on end? Not to mention how Wayne is even back when he gave his fortune and mantle to another. It's probably best to begin anew with a fresh Gotham and a younger Batman.

It was cool to see the Howling Commandos in action in the recent Captain America film.  It would have been nice to get Nick Fury in there, but since the Marvel movie-verse is using the Samuel L. Jackson Ultimates version, that wouldn't have worked with their timeline.  As much as I liked their inclusion, I wish that Dum Dum Dugan and the rest of the Howling Commandos had at least been referred to by name.  Hopefully a sequel will have some WWII scenes and they can get a but more due next time around.
