The Guardian and Daredevil

Between Batman, Daredevil, TMNT, and many other street-level crimefighting comics, there seems to be an unending supply of Ninjas for our heroes to face off against.  Who's to say they aren't all connected in some grand cloning conspiracy?  Might make for a fun tale, anyway!

There have been a bunch of superheroes who were cops in their civilian identities: The Guardian (with the "the"), Nite Owl (first one), Black Badge, Dan Garrett (the original Blue Beetle), Bright (Rising Starrs), etc.

We need a roll call cover.

Isn't the Guardian a clone of the original? In that case there are potential complications ahead for this storyline.

Well, the first story arc I can remember, with mass-produced ninja clones, was the classic reintroduction of Paul Kirk as the Manhunter, in Detective Comics, during the early 1970's!

But, one wonders where Dr. Myrkynos (or whatever his name was) and the rest of his Council got there cloning technology from? Intergang, perhaps?

I'm surprised you didn't have the DaCosta siblings helping Aztek against Hank McCoy's old foe, the Conquistador, while he pilots a Voltron-like mecha against innocent bystanders celebrating Cinco de Mayo somewhere in the Southwest!

Don't forget the Tick!

We need a 100-page special covering this matter, with all of the ninja-fighting heroes mentioned. If you decide to do it as #4500, Ross, you could even revisit the "Ninja-cloning" question every few issues with different heroes, and then finally reveal who's behind it all: Kang, with a little help from Kaminoan hostages.

And now, a totally random idea: The Powerpuff Girls vs Granny Goodness.

Nice, I always love seeing the Guardian here... especially with someone besides Captain America! Maybe he should meet some of Kirby's other Marvel creations, like Black Panther or the Inhumans? In fact, I know he's worked with the Thing a couple of times, but has he met the rest of the Fantastic Four?

On similar lines, I'd like to see the Thing having to "babysit" the Newsboy Legion. :D

you get 100 clones in every pack of CRACKER-Jack, the cheap clone maker. There is no guarantee on their quality or how long they'll last. Just that they will report for assignments as directed.
It was Mike Murdoch that tipped the heroes off. He recognized the toes from the FOOT and the thumbs from the HAND. Cheap skill isn't what it used to be.

So, basically, these clones stand out like sore thumbs?

Detective Tobor said...

nah...they are ALL thumbs!!

Ba-THUMB-boom!

P.S.---sorry! Couldn't resist. ;-D

Wasn't it revealed on KIM POSSIBLE that 'henchmen" derive their name from being mercenaries supplied by a "private security contractor" called Hench-Co?

OK! Being serious, now. It occurs to me that this would make the great conclusion to a four-part adventure (or tetralogy)! Part 1 revealing that Cap and GL Stewart are invading some disputed region of the Latverian/Markovian border. Part 2 is a flashback detailing why (theft of Miraclo, by a sub-sect of the Hand, for the second time in history). Part 3 would reveal that Deathstroke once stole a sample of Sabretooth's DNA so that Miles "the Jackal" Warren could mass produce clones with a built-in healing factor. And Part 4 would detail how Daredevil and the Guardian had to venture into that same disputed region to rescue the imprisoned Cap and Stewart!

Sounds like a simple-to-follow plot to me. ;-D

@ Bob Greenwade

Speaking of The Powerpuff Girls, how about a team up/battle between HIM from Powerpuff Girls and the original Him, Adam Warlock?

Anonymous said...

Ross appears to be meditating on that.

"Om-mani-padme-him!"

Hot Stuff the Lil Devil should be the Herald of Him (from The Powerpuff Girls). Maybe they can battle The Demon with The Gargoyle &/or The Devil-Slayer (from Marvel).

^ Or have Hot Stuff take over for Moon Boy with a Devil Dinosaur adventure against DC's Menagerie Master (from The Super Friends comics).

Or have Quasar helping Moon Girl rescue DD from conscription by the Red Lantern Corps.

@Anon1005: as in "Daredevil" or "Devil Dinosaur"?
