Darkwolf and Conan

The painted covers by Earl Norem and Joe Jusko never fail to impress, an I was glad to combine the two legendary artists here. Have either of them done interior work or did they just stick to pasters ands covers?

Heh! For the first seconds I looked at this, I could've sworn I was looking at a long-lost Frazetta. Good blending, Ross! So good, in fact, that I'm inspired to make a request. How about, for his next appearance, Darkwolf takes on Frazetta's Death-dealer?

Joe Jusko painted a 2 issue Vampirella comic in the 90s. I think it was written by James Robinson.

"Danger, Jim Robinson, danger! This scantily-clad female humanoid is seeking to put the bite on you!"

When I saw the headline before the picture; I thought finally the return of Darkwolf, the black and white hero from Malibu Studios comics back in the 80s. Then I saw the picture. Disappointed but I still like it.

Sorry, Anon232. That was supposed to be my reply to Detective Tobor's comment, farther below. I must've hit a pot hole on the info superhighway! Anyway, I was going to further inquire if your reply was the battle cry used by those Celtic mercenaries in that big fight scene from "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves".

Like I said back, in December of 2024, the only Darkwolf I used to be familiar with was the primary antagonist of Ralph Bakshi's WIZARDS. As for his slightly more heroic namesake, from Malibu/Eternity? Interesting cover art, from that era, I have to admit.* Made the title character look like a cross between Batman and Shadowhawk! Which, I guess would have the intended effect of putting some fear into the hearts of that generally superstitious criminal lot.

* I found some of it over at International Superheroes Catalogue.
