I'm surprised that it took me until the fourth appearance of The Quarrymen to pit them against Terrax. It seems like a natural confrontation, and I am betting that this former herald of Galactus will give them a run for their money.

I think the Thing will be the MVP here. Partly because he's had experience fighting their foe, but also partially because I don't think Terrax's earth-control powers work on Ben's rock-like, but organic, hide. (Of course, it's entirely possible that there's been some story or other over the years that would contradict that.)
But, perhaps more importantly; would Terrax's geokinesis have any effect on Stone Boy of the Substitute Heroes? As I recall, the people of his home world, Zwen, become totally immobile when they literally petrify themselves as a form of suspended animation during a six-month-long planetary night,
P.S.---I take it you mean their fourth appearance under the official team title (excluding the back-up tale that served as their origin) .
Post-postscript: Happy almost-13th Anniversary to these rock-solid superheroes! :-)
Everybody must get stoned.
no bam bam & pebbles as their mascots??
The Godzilla Fighters' Club already wrapped them up for that same position.
See STF #3331 (@2021).
Aren't those two Badrocks and no Blok?
i guess that makes Terrax a Blok-buster.
The ironic twist: The Quarrymen are rescued by the sudden surprise arrival of Goliath and his clan of gargoyles!
Ooh, yes! :-D
That would be an awesome sequel cover.
or by the Beatles (who have appeared in these pages before), who in RL had also used the 'Quarrymen' name early in their career...
