Superman and Dragnet

Before I cut the cable cord, I would have a few shows that I would often watch in the morning while working on new covers.  One was Dragnet, which played on MeTV early on weekdays.  I thought it might be fun to put TV's first live action superhero alongside the no-nonsense law enforcement stars of that classic series.

Coming tomorrow: STF #4800!

Carycomic apologizes in advance.

SGT. FRIDAY: "It was an honor working with you, Superman."

SUPERMAN: " Likewise! If ever I can be of service to you officers in the future, just contact me at my Fortress of Solitude."

GANNON: "How? By radio or carrier pigeon?"

SUPERMAN (with a shameless grin): "Use the fax, detective. Just use the fax!"

P.S.---#4800? Whoa! That means the 5000th Super-Spectacular will be posted circa Dec. 20. The winter solstice! That's my kind of early Xmas present. :-)

"A vigilante running around in tights, flying without filing a flight plan, and causing property damage from smashing through walls. I don't know Joe. We don't have any background on this guy. And I don't trust anyone who smiles all the time."

America's Finest, in front of the Hall of Justice!! Fantastic! Just one thing...
Superman :"Joe, did you ever find Claude Cooper who was accused of stealing the clappers?". (claude cooper copper clapper caper on youtube)
Joe:"Turned out, it wasn't Claude who copped the clappers, but his sister, Carol Cooper who copped the copper clappers on that caper!"

Calamitously confounding!

More likely it's cleaning woman Clara Clifford concocting a cop-out for a co-conspirator she was covertly cohabitating with!

There are still free ad-supported streaming sites that carry Dragnet on demand or on live channels. We also use Frndly because he likes some of the MeTV and other retro channels. I got to watch Super Friends again thanks to MeTV Toons.

Does that mean they were a common-law couple?

Clearly!

Just the fax?

My Verizon FIOS does not carry MeTV Toons. There are only three stations I watch - H&I, MeTV and NFL Network and NFL Network is being cancelled if they stop carrying replayed games. It is only way I see the games on pay to see.

I C certain clever commenters collectively contributed candid comebacks .. Cool! :-)

Can you use an antenna in your area? Old fashioned but we also get all three MeTV channels through that. You'll need a DVR to record shows but it's an option.

Detective Tobor said...

you can hook a recorder to antenna as well just like in the 1970s.

Great Caesar's Ghost! I think he's got it. :-)

My commensurate compliments!
